That's it indeed! I figure it's like any other form of something you can bet on, the best start is to know what you're up against....kind of like placing the 6 and 8 on a dice table (pays 7:6) as opposed to betting the Big 6 and 8 (even money).

This book isn't about how to win the lottery, it's about how the states set up the lotteries, odds, break-even amounts, house edge, etc...Lottery Book : The Truth Behind the Numbersby Don Catlin The publication date is 2003 so a few things are different, Mega Millions was 6/ 52 then, some other games have added numbers and thus increased the odds but the principle is the same. There is also a chapter about winners- The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
