At least with pick4 you have 715 box combinations while pick3 only have 220, so it's more likely to happen in the pick3 drawings.

I imagine 777 and 7777 sell out quickly in most draws. It's almost like dead money to the Lottery Commissions.

1927 was the year Mrs. King was born.

0825=8:25 was the time she died Pacific Time.

These numbers came today in Cash 3/4.

LiLSpeedy, I live in FL and 1927 has been extremely hard to get for years especially boxed. I assume it is a popular birth year with alot of retirees here and it hits the cutoff quickly.

Not on Texas and probably not any-where either, I have many times looked at many states draws, they didn't look so random to me, but hell, I don't know anything.

I played 1927 at 1155AM this morning....was able to get it through and it only paid $500,000 so it had not reached its limit

I'll say it again Laverne,

1927 is the year in which Mrs. King was born. The funeral was held today.

Now I can see why so many Georgia bets were placed on 1927.

It sold out because it was the year Mrs. King was born and the African American community loaded up on the the number. They play the numbers not V-tracs LOL

Delaware, being a small state, has a number cutoff of around $350,000 for the 3 digit and about the same for the 4 digit. That's one reason I leave triples and double numbers alone in DE. Many times, particularly Friday, Sat. and Sunday, a lot of these numbers can be cutoff. One would have to buy early and perhaps a few days in advance to make sure of getting a hit.

Some time ago I had the same thing happened in the Michigan Lottery . Lottery Officials' told me they will block a number to protect them from going bankrupt. The states system knows what numbers are being played but the numbers are still a ramdom draw..

Georgia has pretty good disclosure as Onenumber pointed out.

They also reply politely and sensibly when questions are emailed to them, sometimes replying to several questions with a phone call to the questioner.

This has especially been true with Ms. DeFrancisco heading it.

Am not expecting the Georgia Lottery to go the way of others which are having problems which IMHO sprang from them failing to listen to players.

Many state pick-3 and pick-4 games that pay fixed prizes have a limit on how many plays can wager on the same combination to avoid going bankrupt.

Hey, I found this on the Georgia Lottery website, it's located under the Georgia Lottery Timeline section.

July 1, 2004Liability limits are adjusted to $18 million for CASH 3 and $8 million for CASH 4.

Georgia has done it before when a certain amount of tickets bearing a particular set of numbers has been bought. Doesn't seem a big deal to me because we have pretty good oversight.

The have limits on how many different sets of numbers they sell. They aren't going to allow themselves to take a lose. My suggestion around that is buy early or buy them in multidraws or advance draws.

I have heard that there are times when the lottery loses money on the Pick3 such as when a triple hits, because the average joe goes and plays triples a lot. Probably happens most with 777, but lotteries are obligated to $500 per pop if it isn't stated in the rules otherwise.

I think if GA lottery is anything like IL lottery, they have what they call liability limits . Meaning that if that number hits it will not break the bank . They probably have a set dollar amount for all the numbers and that way the payoff will not be more than they are willing to payout.

What is going on with the Georgia Lottery? I along with others tried to play 1927 at midday today. To our surprise it was BLOCKED. My question to the lottery officials is, If the lottery numbers that are being drawn daily are being drawn randomly, how do you know when to BLOCK a particular number? To BLOCK certain numbers would lead one to believe that the lottery is fixed and corrupt. Don't let what happened to the Texas lottery, happen to the Georgia lottery.
