I wished that all games get computerized except for CA SLP, MM, and PB. However, I don't like the computerized drawings manipulate and take advantage of everyone. Computerized drawings may mean that a jackpot winner will occur and less people playing it.

My theory is that state Lotteries and soon Multi-state lotteries what the advantage to munipulate the drawing numbers in their favor so that more revenue streams in. The good old milking the paying public dry.-weshar75

Of course, the big proponents of computerized drawings would say how they have all these checksum algorithms and security protocols, etc., and nothing of the sort could ever slip by them.

Yeah, right! These companies are modest-sized firms, with nowhere near the resources as a big company like Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, etc., and yet those big companies are thwarted by hackers every day. And you're telling me that some sub-$100 million company can have a better... [ More ]

And it's actually pretty easy to hack one of these computers. What if someone who was performing maintenance slipped in a disk that, unbeknownst to the security cameras, had a virus instead of the diagnostic software. It's so easy to do, and it would be so easy to get away with.

The whole radioactive decay thing is ridiculous. It only addresses one problem out of many.

There is no way anyone has ever put forward that can address the problem of zero visibility of the drawing process. After all, what happens to the numbers after the radioactive decay has produced them? Who is to say that a hacker doesn't slip a program in there to ignore the radioactive numbers, and substitute their own??

I bet if MUSL is the creator of Quantum Vision they can not wait to get the states to approve of the switch over to this Radioactive decay RNG. To try it out on the masses of Powerball. If so I think I will only play when the jackpot is higher than $147 million and save some money.-weshar75

It would seem to me that Mr Strutt and MUSL are aware that some people do not like computerized drawings, and decided to go with tamper-proof computers.

I did finally analyzed when the last HL drawing wasn't computerized. It was on 1/28/06. Then the first computerized drawing in HL began on 2/1/06. I'm not happy that HL was computerized.

Also, this computerization of Hot Lotto and Wild Card 2 really hurts some states in the State Lottery Report Card. For example, the state of Montana dropped from an A+ to a C.

I really hope MUSL does not have plans to change Powerball to the dreadful computerized drawings. That would be an utter disaster.

I'm not happy that Hot Lotto went to computerized drawings. Yesterday, I went to MUSL Hot Lotto video Archive of the draws, after 6/1/05, it never showed the video. The ball machines in Hot Lotto was fair enough for me to support the ball drawings, not computerized.

For me, it really isn't so much a matter of trust, but rather the fact that a cartoon drawing isn't any fun to watch. Half of the reason I play is so I can watch the balls drop my way (not that I have to buy a ticket to watch the drawing, but still). And without those bouncing or spinning balls on TV, it just kills it for me. Now I will play a computerized game, but it has be really special, like DC Daily 6 or KY Tic Tac Cash. But if it's just another same ole', same ole' game that's drawn with... [ More ]

there are big problems with it tony....trust me i don't think you'd buy anymore lotto 5 tickets if you found out tennesssee went computerized.trust me on this one.they don't have ball drawings they'd have a computer that is vulnerable to all kinds of mainpulation that would spit out all kinds of crazy combinations.they'd be able to manipulate it where they could look at all the bets made and program the computer to spit out the numbers nobody bet on to drive the jackpot up and raise more money f... I understand HL now has computerized draws, which probably started since the beginning of this year. While I am not as critical of computer drawings as some other LP members, I will stop pushing this game.
