In late 2004 Oregon Megabucks which is a 6/48 had a jackpot won at $30 million. That is the highest jackpot in Oregon Megabucks history.-weshar75

Illinois Lotto reached a jackpot of $37 million last April, but its matrix is 6/52, not 6/48.

NY will never see a $100 million Lotto as long as its prizes are terrible. Until they pay 50% like other games do, it needs to lower its matrix.

My vote is for no. In a 6/48 game, it's likely that someone will win when it gets near 28 million. It's possible, but not likely.

It looks like there aren't enough people to drive the prize payout up that fast.

If you look at the payout history for IL and MI lotto games, they don't increase that much per drawing either. Both states have higher populations than IN. IL has 12M people to IN's 6M people. IL has a ball drawing, MI has RNG.

Maybe these multi-state games (MM PB) have taken a lot of the thunder out of the local lottos, aside from the big-boys like CA, FL, NY, TX.

Most people are not as into the lottery games as people on this site, beyond tracking the numbers.

Just like most people are not into politics like the D.C. crowd. Unless you get a major scandal (national news scale) like the $200 million bridge to an island in AK, used by a few hundred people (how many people know about that story?), most folks are just not going to hear about what goes on outside their state.

From the looks of this poll, I now know why the Lottery gets to 28 million----some of you will believe anything. Its like the news--ppl believe anything on it. Well, I guess if I was the Lottery I would get to 30 million seeing how many of you wouldnt care. Do the statistics my fellow lottery post members and maybe you will come up with a different answer.
