PA doesn't allow anonymity so its best to grin and bear the press conference. Besides its no harm if you can go incognito. There is no rule saying that ya cant! And with Chewie making my lamp shade for the big debut when I win, I'm sure it will be the High LIGHT of the press conference . No sense in keeping people in the dark eh? :) (pun intended!)

First off, hello to everyone........

My answer to the poll at hand is that I would definetely stay anonymous if ( and that is an extremely huge if) I was to ever win the lottery. I would do three things only: 1) Thank God for the blessing, 2) Donate some to my church, and 3) Make sure that my family would want for NOTHING!

It sure would be nice if it was to happen, but there is nothing wrong with having a good fantasy once in a while.

I don't think the lottery would care one way or another. I kinda think the state tax collector and the IRS would not be your greatest fan. It is one thing to bounce around $5K, it is another to do this with $5M - or more. They'd be reading the money laundrying clauses all night - inside your jail cell.

I have been waiting over ten years to win the Powerball so when I win on wednesday I will be there thursday morning to start the processing of the ticket and my claim to the jackpot. I will take the cash option and when I get the check in hand how ever long the process takes I will seek out financial advice through my bank Wells Fargo. I will refuse the press conference and just let them release my name and the store were I purchased the winning ticket from.-weshar75

If memory serves me someone claiming a past Georgia jackpot had an attorney act as their spokesperson at the press conference .... which sounds like the way to go. They like being in the public eye and would know all the right words to say.

I would try to remain totally annonymous but given the rules of the state I live in I doubt if I could. So I'd hire an attorney and see if he/she could negotiate some rules for the press conference. I might also hire a public relations firm. NOT because I want any publicity...but because they might be able to give me some tips on how to keep publicity to a minimum and or at least be able to control the flow of information.

I would remain as annonymous as I possibly could. I would send a proxy. I would wait a couple of months before I claimed my prize, at least.
