RJOh, I agree. Also, I hope PB can set new roll record down the line because CA SLP had 20 rolls once from 11/12/05 to 1/21/06. and PB currently has 18 straight rolls.

Congratulations Todd on your 2+1 win. What numbers did you match? I'm happy that the new North American jackpot record has been established. It's strange that only 16 tickets match the first 5 numbers. I was expecting about 30+.

Yeah, this was as unpredictable as the time last year when the Powerball jackpot was hit nine times over a four month span. This just shows luck goes both ways.

I wonder what all those who said back in November that the powerball will not be getting this high again anytime soon think? Just goes to show you once again that the lottery is virtually unpredictable. It is bad when you spend days and nights analyzing numbers, and playing your own numbers, only to get no matches hardly at all. Then one QP ticket comes very close to winning. Now I see why the majority are QP winners, as much as I hate to see that, and play QP's.

Yeah, I guess I'm going to cut back starting now instead of waiting until the current jackpot run is over. So I'm going to get only two tickets for Saturday instead of three, like I have for the past two draws. Once this PB run is over, I'm playing only one ticket on Saturdays (no Wednesday draws) until the pot is at least $100 million; then I'm playing one every draw until the jackpot is at least $250 million; then two per draw until the pot is won.

Wow, my ONE QP ticket was very close, and even closer than when I buy many at a time. 03, 14, 25, 34, 45, 30 but still a flat out loser. Sure did look good at first, until the good ole lottery reality check kicked in. I might stick to just buying one ticket from now on, seems to work better.

Yeah, I've mentioned in another thread that if the prizes were paid pari-mutuel, each second prize winner would have received $324,576 excluding any PowerPlay winnings. Oh well, the MUSL just has more cash in the short term prize reserve to pay out when Powerball gets more winners than statistically expected.

Interesting that only 16 players won second prize. Sometimes with these big draws you get 50 or 60 2nd place winners. I'll bet the state love the low number (not eating away at profits). Players, of course, would feel the opposite.
