It may be true that someone with $100 million might not be the prime target in Palm Beach. But what if you live in a rural community where there is no one else with that kind of money in 100 miles? If you're where the wealthy have a mere million or two or five? So, if you looked in Google, for the last 25 jackpot winners, how many would you find that were destroyed by publicity? Only those that were losers before winning. Those that had minimum common sense never had a problem. Your 15 minutes of fame will actually be about 5 minutes. Well let me see here, I know I would have to take care of the parental units first. Then comes the rest of the family: 2 sisters, 1 set of grandparents(that is all that is still alive), aunt and uncle(they were always there for me), 3 nieces, 1 nephew(send them to private school). Where in Florida do you live? There are so many millionaires living here, you'd fit right in. A lot of celebrities live in Miami and Naples is loaded with wealthy people. Nobody would yell there's that lottery winner if you were driving an Aston Martin since there's a dealership down the road and many of the homes on the beach cost over $5M. Personal and family safety issues would probably be the biggest worry. As an older woman living alone and with neighbors who travel a lot, I might have to move to a more protected area or hire a bodyguard. And my relatives who work at a prison know too many bad guys who are now out and might see them as good subjects for kidnapping, if they should learn these individuals are related to me.

All that you mentioned, but must of all I would worry about the publicity. Florida lets everyone know who won. I think if I were to millions, I'd get a bodyguard, a lawyer, a financial advisor, maybe legally change my name and move to another state or out of the country. There are people out there who think you won their money, crazy as it seems. I think I would handle things well, since my main goal is security. I don't need lots of luxuries. Financial security in itself is a great thing, especially since it allows for mistakes. Plus as I said before anyone with even half a brain can transform their windfall into even more lucritive prospects, and create many more opportunities for others in the economy.

I don't believe in the way this economy is set up as far as money is concerned, and how it controls everything. But what else can you do except utilize it as best as you can to your own advantage

Exactly GameGrl. Almost 99% of all my problems had something to do with money, or lack there of. Providing one has their head screwed on properly, a seemingly unlimited amount of money will only make their lives much more enjoyable, not worse. Especially if they were always used to having the bare minimum in life.

However the humility and the wisdom has already been derived from life's strongest lessons so now it is time to have fun, but still modestly.

The worries won't be there when I win the big one, they'll all be behind me from that day forward! The list is a short one for the people who where there for me during the bad times! The rest can be counted on one hand and that list is too long! My two children will be taken care of (18 3). My three yr. old will be home schooled (that's a better way to receive an education anyway)! Trust funds set up for my children payable to them when they reach age 35.

Nothing, my worries would finally be over. As I said before a few times, I am tailor-made for a large jackpot win. Most lottery worries are simply paranoia, and fear of the unknown. Properly educating yourself on what to do after winning the lottery will go a long way. The news only tells you about the bad lottery stories usually, not the far more good ones.

My only concern would be the safety of my family. Too many crazy people in this world. Concern for my family is the only reason I'd keep a low profile. Needy friends and family would be no problem. You are either on the list or you are not, and the list is very short. If you're on the list - I got you. If you're not on the list - I can't help you. Taxes are no concern - just pay what you owe and get it over with. As for stress - as soon as I win I'll be stress free.

i would also reward those that have been kind to me wife and i along lifes'journey,all over the world we have found nice people,and bad.the fond ones are when you were young and struggling to make ends meet,they were your friends.also family that sticks by you even if you go away for 2 years,military,etc..

I live by Chewies' philosophy, it you werent there during the rough times dont be around during the glee times. You werent on my list then, ya aint there now. So that takes care of the family and *friends*.

Taxes are a given. They are given to the government each year. No need to worry there.

I never was one for the guilt trips , I tell em to take a real trip off my porch when they hand me those lines.

I'd be worried that friends would say if you're really a friend you'll share.. what, you're only giving me a Mercedes? no house also?? i'd give you half if I had won.. you should do the same for me! I imagine also that in Church, instead of the usual little collection plate, they'd haul over a wastebasket for me to empty my wallet into.

Not on your list is Needy strangers knocking on your door asking for money . I've never won anything and the only money I have is what I've earned by working and that bothers me now when it happens so if I had just won a big jackpot I might be tempted to greet uninvited strangers with a loaded gun.

I would worry that any one who I have known or currently know would think because they know who I am that they are more entitled to the winnings that I myself have spent the last ten years plus of my life trying to win than I am.
