It's another way of saying spliting up into groups. It's when you have a large group of people with different sessions of different things happening, they split up/break out in groups. When one group is doing one thing the other group is doing another. etc. But all groups eventually get to do everything. At least that's one of the ways we did it. It depended on the venue and the number of participants.

Do we need or want break-out sessions? If we hold this convention in a casino town, I don't think anyone would attend. They will all be in the casino.

Perhaps just a dinner one night. Say from 7 to 9. After meeting the people at our respective tables and having dinner, we could just mingle around and find the people we most want to meet.

It all sounds great to me, but there is always a long list of things to consider with a conference. Anyone want to write their thoughts about what a schedule of break-out sessions would look like? Normally there are at least 2-3 different break-outs happening simultaneously, and there could be around 4-5 sessions per day.

I envision an upscale event. Nice Hotel accomodations. Flying in on Fri say starting around 2pm meet greet,

welcome package with t-shirt and hat etc eve sit down dinner. All day Sat sharing our workouts using audiovisuals or breakout sessions until say5PM. Then if it was Vegas - on your own Sat nite and leave on Sun.

todd what do you think? I'm sure as bright was the LP members are we could make this a memorable event....Thoughts anyone????

I don't want to travel a very long way but if such a thing were held in the Northeast I'd consider it. I could show off my program. See if there is potential to market it. They used to have parties like that in South Jersey for AOL chat room regulars. Hopefully they will have a 50/50 drawing. Maybe see what elephant eyebrows look like and hear some guitar licks, or nibble on some mice.

I think another big debate would be MegaMillions vs Powerball. The ideas of hosting it in a non-lottery state such as MS or NV would alleviate that issue. On the other hand, we wouldn't be able to do the world's biggest lottery pool.

I think the Convention would be a great idea..I really do..a chance for everyone to meet others on here that really do think alike..I dont think there would be any fights..I mean I am still new here and I have seen a few disagreements about certain things but I think the maturity level here is where it is suppose to be..The only thing bad I would see that would come out of the Convention is that what ever state was picked for the Convention might be in trouble with all of the members of Lotteryp... I play an online wargame with about 2,000 people. We had a convention in Canada a couple of years ago. The anamosity, debate and arguements in this forum are nothing compared to what we experience. Still, our convention was a very civilized meet. People that are notorious for creating or encouraging a debate, arguement or flame-war were the ones that drank together for most of the weekend.

Yes, and maybe one gigantic powerball pool! Then we can all take home about $100 bucks after we all relish in the fact that we finally hit the jackpot....all together! I would say only about 100 people would show, if that. That would be good for about $500,000 out of a $50 million dollar jackpot after taxes. Not bad. We could all invest $100 in tickets for 10,000 tickets I think. Eyes would be burning after checking that many lines.
