What a great Story and good advice but it is too too late for me! Years ago i got my back pay from ss and had did a lot of lending and never got a dime back,i Hope this help some one think before it is too late,The same people i did a favor for now shop at places i can't afford,go figure!Thanks for the Message,Information is Power

Cars

Food

The country itself.

In Florida our local town of Davie a woman commissioner spent her entire term helping the poor people in the Palma Nova mobile home park getting them air conditioners and food assistance and hurricane repairs. The March 14th 2006 election she only got three votes from that area. The lesson we learned was poor people don't vote or not enough to help themselves let alone keep someone working for them. Heck she didn't ask them for a grand, voting is free !!!

Great story! Thank you. Sad, but true. I also don't agree with it 100%. I guess it depends, as Sirbrad points out, on your belief system. If you need to test your friends to begin with, then they're not friends in the first place. This whole idea goes back to the movie that's on tv every year at Christmas. That's one of the best stories I have ever read. It kind of reminds of me and the Navy.

1. September 20, 2004, Lent $50 to a friend so he can fill gas in his big SUV. I never saw him again when he got out of the Navy.

2. February 13, 2003(my birthday). Lent another friend $250. The next day he attempted Suicide. I never heard of him again.

Sure that is true, but the only problem is that it is tough to convince others that anything other than a share of the loot is actually helping them. We know otherwise, but they do not seem to know, or appreciate it. All most are seeing is dollar signs. $$$ Which in turn creates jealously, hostility, and grudges. Helping others doesn't always translate into monetary endowment. People can be helped many ways without throwing money in their direction.

Many posters on LP are willing to share their systems and techniques for free for others to use to help themselves financially ... should others desire to put out the effort to learn to use them. Those gifts are blessings which continue to give.

Of course then again depending on your belief system, you are supposed to help others regardless of what they do for you. In essence this allows even more positive karma to flow your way, even if it is hard to imagine anything better could happen after a jackpot win. But the more you help, the more the word spreads, and the more 'in demand' you become. You will never "do enough" and your jackpot win could wind up leaving you even more broke than before you won it...

Funny thing is I already came up with a similar plan, and have been "testing" so called "friends" for years in preparation of my jackpot generosity. Luckily most of them have failed miserably.
