I was sent there after bootcamp.<br /><br />I had a great time there, even though I never left the base. Didn&#x27;t have time to really do anything except, study, study, study. It was a 2 year college course, compressed into 4 months. 			<description><![CDATA[<p>I am disabled..I took my son hunting 13 years ago when he was 11 and he shot me in my right thigh at close range with a shotgun..blew out 2 inches of my femur..blew out my femoral vein and femoral artery and blew my sciatic nerve in half..from football in highschool..and work after high school..I have had 6 operations on my left knee and 8 operations on my right leg to save and repair it for a total of 14..</p>]]></description>

Its a school run by Seafarers International Union and it is a good school. It&#x27;s tough at first because they march around alot and to different classes but it pays off in the long run if he sticks to it. I belong to that Union and have for years and chances are good he may end up on a ship with me while he is in training. It is the biggest shipping company in the world and yes they pay good money but it&#x27;s nice to go home for a little while after 3 or 4 trips across the pond because while the ship is in port, things get hectic. We now have a few Sodick EDM machines, a couple Haas mini mills and a huge Monarch machining center. We also make a little bling-bling for Harley. It&#x27;s called a headlamp.</p>]]></description>

Is he going into the Commercial side or the Cruise Industry ? If it is the school in Piney Piney Point , it is a very good school and it&#x27;s nice there. We no longer stop there but what memories of that place I have. Lost my wallet there once. Had a phone card and called home after quite a few. Put my wallet on top of the payphone . After an hour on the phone and a sore ear , I walked away and forgot my wallet. Had to get new everything. Had a good time though.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>Thanks KR , I kind of work differently, I can work 75 days on and 35 off, or I can work 105 days on and 75 off , or I can work 140 days on and 75 off. It&#x27;s up to me. I haven&#x27;t worked much in the last couple of years , about 140 days due to an accident and now I just had my papers renewed which took a couple of monthe due to Homeland Security rules. Been at it since 1977 though and wouldnt think of working anywhere else or retiring. It&#x27;s a great job. As far as being gone alot.
