If it were not for the faithful longtimers wishing for the elusive big jackpot, I guess there would be no game. Good question and one that prompts much deep thought. Hmmm! Count your winnings and count how much you have contributed to the winnings of others.

I have played on and off for about 7 years now. I was playing before I turned 18. I had family members get the tickets for me. That was back when Indiana had real drawings, not that computerized junk. I have never won more than 50.00 at a time.

my answer is the same as miss bee.day one in march of 2004 in tennessee and about a month ago started online.i've won about 20,000 dollars from 2 years ago until now.that includes the 2,250 i won today online......

My vote is almost 8 years. The most I ever won was $23 in 2001. I played the lotto since I turned 18 years old in 1999.

humm..lets see here..in 1990 I think it was before my son shot me with a shotgun..I had a job like everyone else..lol..I use to be a breadman for Sunbeam bread..I delivered to a little sandwich shop and the guy that owned it started going to florida to buy tickets for anyone that wanted to play..so..I started playing and after seeing the numbers come out here and there a little light bulb went off over my head and I said..humm maybe there is some patterns here so I started tinkering with the num... Begen playing when Kentucky started their lotto; 1993 I think it was. We would drive the hour to Kentucky, buy tickets for several draws, pick up some state-tax free cigarettes, buy cheaper gas, and watch our money disappear into the lotto coffers.

The WA state lottery started in 84. I would have to shop around at that time for where to get tickets since I wasn't yet 18.

You've got company! I've been playing off and on for 30 years, 12 in FL, and the most I've won is $83Total is probably less than $300. I only became serious about it around 10 years ago and haven't missed a week since. It's difficult to remember, but back in the 70s, MA had a Wed night lottery drawing for the Big one that was $50,000. Times sure have changed. Sometimes I think it's gone too far.

I voted other because, though I started playing occasionally back in the early 1980s when it started in Washington, I then quit for many years when I was too preoccupied with work and other things to even think about it. It has only been in about the past five or six years that I started playing occasionally again and in the past year or so that I've increased that to about half the time.
