I agree with Coin Toss. I don't play MM or PB for all the reasons mentioned above, so their marketing scheme of advertising a huge jackpot doesn't work for me. If the second and third tier prizes were substantially higher I might consider playing those games.

As a potential customer their present payout structure is not appealing and therefore they don't get my money. I don't care if the jackpot goes to one billion dollars I still wouldn't play the game.

As RJOh said, the sales are from... [ More ]

Yes, you are talking about a jackpotless game. Again there is no interest. El Gordo is only popular because it procedes modern lotteries and it's popularity is declining in the face of Euro millions. Just because YOU don't want someone to win a jackpot or get rich doesn't mean that it's a popular idea. The fact of life is that many in the US are rich and for the lower to middle class the lottery is your only chance of getting there. Powerball makes a focus on the second place but their sales ref... [ More ]

That's because there isn't that much interest. People playing jackpot games want a large jackpot for themselves. Most don't want a socialist ideal of no one being rich.

I also play for smaller jackpots. In WA state the pick 5 here is Quinto and when it breaks 2 million or so I start buying tickets. I am also playing for a jackpot but a smaller jackpot with better odds. If people want to play for smaller pots state games offer that but with much better odds than the multi-state games.... [ More ]

Of course, they have the population, so.

OK, before Vegas went corporate it was nothing for people to go out and everybody win $100 by lining up three bar bar bars on a slot.

Hi There,

Agree, there should be more for the lower prizes. I know I would buy more tickets if they gave more money to the lower numbers. To give 100mil to one winner is ridiculous. But the people who decide how the awards should be handed out do not consider that they may make more money if there were more substantial awards.

It had several big winners from Pennsylvania and Indiana and some people thought too many players were winning big and not sharing so a limit of $20M per ticket regardless of the jackpot size was tried.
