There's a unofficial rule of thumb we have down here in regard to jackpots that go over $50 million. It's going to be hit by multiple tickets every time. If you can get a $40 million or so jackpot it's probably yours alone unlike this one that will have at least two winners.............

Gov Jeb Bush kept Florida out of Powerball when he took office in 1999. Due to term limits, the president's brother will be leaving next year. FL needs a governor who will allow a multi-state game.

I always thought Mega would add FL if FL joined a multi-state game. For those wondering it looks like the post-tax cash prize is around $26 million. Still a great prize considering the odds.

I know that, on late October, 1991, FL Lotto jackpot was hit at $90 million. But, I am not sure whether there had ever been a FL jackpot(s) bigger than $100 million which, as Todd indicated, was won in late 2002.

On Sat, Dec 14, 2002 the FL Lotto jackpot reached $100 Million. Lottery Post Premium members have access to the jackpot history of any game in the USA, Canada, and UK.

The only way Florida can join Mega Millions is if Mega loses California, since Mega is not accepting any more states. Florida can join Powerball, but that will probably mean another matrix change :-(.

As long as I can remember since I have been tracking lotteries I have never seen their jackpot so high.

With odds of winning it 1 in 23 million it is amazing how many times your money the jackpot is.

You could buy all the possible combinations and make a huge profit.

You don't see games with jackpots that are almost 4X the odds. People in Florida must be going Lotto Crazy.
