Just got back from PLaying in vegas. Their is NO rhyme or reason for how a slot will hit. I did find out that if I didnt get a pay back after the first ten spins that it was rare to break even or recoup from it. Will say that whilst the penny and nickle machines seem inticing since you think you are playing less money, its simply not true. To break even you have to play at least four times the single line bet and most lines are nine lines or above. So most often your playing $1.20 per spin on a

Xavier's advice was good. I do a variation of the same idea. When you get on a machine give it five chances for a win. If it doesn't win move on. If it does win stick with it and count your losing spins up to five consecutive losses in a row. If you're sitting at a machine for a while and you've been hitting you can relax your cutoff to let's say ten losers in a row.

This technique has a couple of advantages. The obvious one is looking for a hot machine. But it also helps you save mone... [ More ]

Almost any seasoned video poker player - and slot techs - will tell you this, when a machine gets cold, make a very bad play. Break up a paying hand, two pair or something, or get a good hand and discard the whole hand dealt you, all five cards. It seems to turn the machine around. Kind of like a basketball coach calling a time out and breakingup the other team's momentum.

Go figure.

Video poker slots are the best slot machine going because there is a human element (you) who can choose what cards to replace.

I made plans with a friend to go to the casino. I had two weeks to prepare for it so I learned about video poker and practiced it heavily for those two weeks.

Within 15 minutes of arriving I hit a royal flush for $1000. The key was learning the nuances of the game and practicing. Video poker is a different animal from regular poker so you have to adjust to it.

There are many books and opinions about how to play video poker. Some say it depends on what kind of machine you are on (they are classified by payout schedules).

The biggest mistake people make playing video poker is not remembering they are one-on-one with the machine, not in a real poker game with multiple players. That and sticking $1.25 (five quarters) in the poker machine, getting a pair of Jacks and geting paid $1.25 and saying, I won! I won

Here's agood technique for slots. Got from a book on slots. Take 10 coins, 25cent or $1 and play them through a slot machine. If you win 7 or more from your 10, it means the machine may be ready to start paying out or is in an up cycle(streak). Keep playing for another 10 and see how you do. If you win 7 or more you can decide whether or not to keep playing for another. Generally though if you're not ahead after your 20 coins, it's time to move onto another machine.

*Play only machine... [ More ]

About the only things you can do is limit how much the casino can win from you and have an amount you want to win after which you walk away.

Never turn to the ATM, arrive with an amount for slots, never spend more then that because if luck were on your side for the day you wouldn't need more money.

Once you get to the amount you need for the visit, say $200.00 quit, collect and leave. It isn't hard to win to a reasonable amount, it's trying to win big that takes people over the top of th... [ More ]

I don't think so.

Nowadays everything is an electronic chip. It used to be three mechanical reels and old timers in Vegas could actually time a machine.

That just can't be done with chips. Well, not legally. People selling slot systems are usually trying to raise more money to play with.

some years ago a slot tech mail ordered a little booklet about Keno machines - video Keno - but it was nothing startling, he just talked about playing patterns and not lucky numbrers because o... [ More ]
