Within NY state, Mega Millions long passed Rotto in sales, so I know I'm not the only one who knows NY Rotto has a terrible payout %. But too many people still don't care, and are afraid that if they stop playing NY Rotto, they'll miss out on a jackpot.

I have noticed that sales for the game went down since NY joined Mega Millions. Also, remember that players will play whichever game has the bigger jackpot, and quite a few play both. Remember that sometimes Mega Millions will have the bigger jackpot, and sometimes Lotto will have the bigger jackpot.

That's why NY Rotto hasn't changed in nearly five years, even after NY joined Mega Millions. NY has so many dumb lottery players.

I don't think they care about the payout percentage in the first place. I think that most people play to win the jackpot.

That is so true. When the jackpot gets to a certain level, players won't care about the payout percentage.

I used to deliver NY Lottery New$ 1993-2001. There were many weeks I had to go to Rockland Co, including permanently for the last few months, starting the week before 9/11.

Everybody should know that NY Rotto has cheap prizes (eg matching 3/6 wins ONE DOLLAR!!) The only time I played Mega Millions in Texas (last October) I won $6 (MB times 3).
