guys, i don't want to know the odds, i'll like to know "how to calculate the odds of a game like that", I think that maine also has a 7 number lottery (6+1mega ball) called megabucks but you have to match 6 only to win.

Here is the way I figured it:

How to figure odds:

Take your "Win For Life" Game 6/42 and 1/42

42 divided by 6 = 7

41 divided by 5 = 8.2

40 divided by 4 = 10

39 divided by 3 = 13

38 divided by 2 = 19

37 divided by 1 = 37

The next step is to multiply all the numbers:

7 * 8.2 * 10 * 13 * 19 * 37 = 5,245,786:1

Ok now 5,245,786:1 is for a 6/42 game with NO extra drawing.

To figure out the odds with the bonus ball (1 to 42)

Multiply 5,245,786 * 42 = 220,323,012:1

Don't bother trying to figure out the odds for Lose for Life. As GA doesn't offer a cash option, the game is NOT worth playing.

Do anyone in here is a math wiz? Does anyone know how to calculate the odds of a game that selects X amount of numbers but where you have to match X - 1 to win, Example, a pick6 1-45 lottery that draws 6 numbers but you have to match 5 to win? Here in Ga we have a game called: win for life where players choose 6 numbers to win and the lotto selects 6 numbers from 1 to 42 and a mega ball from 1 to 42 (making it 7 numbers in total) but you must match 6 numbers to win?
