I find that my chances of winning depends on the date of the month. My birthdate equals 5 so the 5, 14. and 23 are usually more lucky for me. Take for instance if you were born on the first of the month, try spending more on th 1, 10, 19, 28 and see what happens. My friend was born on the 6th and she definitely hits more often on the 6, 15, and 24th of the month.

It seems all forms of gambling attract strokers . A stroker is someone who gives the clerk a hard time or is out to see how much they can get the clerk to do for the littlest amount of money.

I'm sure if there's any clerks here who handle lottery they'll tell you that not everyone hands them a filled out play slip and a dollar and says, Play this please.

I always leave if there's a stroker in front of me.

I know I'm not going to win when I enter a store and a certain lottery player is there. I usually leave and go to another store, if there is enough time to play. This person talks and talks and tries so hard to get into my personal business. I ususally write my numbers on tickets, but in my mind, his presence even throws them off. CRAZY, I know.

About the only superstition I have is if someone in line at the store in front of me buys the scratch ticket I was going to buy, I'll either buy a different ticket or pass.

Whenever I buy tickets I play my own numbers and buy an insta pick, I feel if I don't win with one set I may win with the other.

if i go to a certain store and have a losing streak after going there a while i quit going to that store and never play there again.it seems like every time i've eaten a bag of crunchy cheetos i usually do well on pick 5 especially on wednesdays.also i eat a snickers each time i powerplay on powerball.....

When I worked in Vegas we had a mandatory meeting and one guy was ticked about having to come in on his day off. He played a multi-draw Keno game (live casino Keno) for $50, a $1 8-spot for the next 50 games.

He marked all the 6's on his Keno slip, 6, 16, 26, 36 ,46 ,56, 66, 76....but the Keno writer was very busy and (this is when they were still done by hand and looked like calligraphy) marked all the 8's.....8 to 78.

I always get separate tickets, even for the same game. I know the chance of winning on more than one line on a 6/53 Lotto game would be rare, so it's not only for tax purposes. I just feel that each number is a totally separate game. I don't know if you'd call that a superstition or just a personal habit.

I also will never cancel a ticket if there's an error. I usually use cards anyway, so there shouldn't be any mistakes, but it's happened. One Fri night I added 2 QPs for MegaMoney to my Lott... [ More ]

For instance...do you always use a particular pen...or go to a particular store...or do you have a lucky shirt or sox?

I don't have anything like that, but I do have an aversion to buying tickets for more than one game at a time. It's as if I'm making a statement of no faith in my numbers if I buy them for more than one drawing. Silly, I know.
