Stack thanks. Did I say 8 pairs? Sorry. A 4-digit digit number has 6 pairs:

ABCD

the pairs are

AB, BC, CD, AC, AD, BD

I agree with your observation about optimzing pairs for box hits in p4.

By careful tracking of pairs every week or so I have a pair or 2 that are just screaming hot and i play the full slate...

The thing is the average person thinks that if you only have 2 of the 4 digits you have to play 100 numbers to get a sure hit. Not true!

IMO, combining 2 pairs is probably the best and most inexpensive way of playing the Pick-4.

5. Don't forget that in pick 4 you have 8 pairs...(not just frony and back)--later for that

There are 6 pairs (not 8) in Pick-4 combinations like 3706. (24-way boxes)

37 and 06

30 and 76

36 and 70

In double combos like 1123 (12-way boxes) there are 4 pairs.

11 and 23

12 and 13

Triples have 2 pairs and double doubles have 3. If you're counting how many... [ More ]

Hints:

1. Don't your eyes immediately fall on the doubles...?

2. Aren't you immediately drawn to the 37 pair because it is in the front and back...Don't you see the 62 front and back too? 58 and 58?

3. If you are quick wouldn't you notice that 3706 and 6214 are close (1 up 1 down)--kind of shift (a la amilby)?

4. You see 99 and 44 and you know they are mirrors...don't you think a 9 or 4 will show up?

Supposed I tell you to look for the CT numbers (Midday and evening) in this list. This list of10 numbers wil determine both midday and Evening CT numbers...Which pairs of numbers would appeal to you? Think carefully and then compare to the results coming up today...
