The inevitable Happy Memorial Day from a cashier or server today...

There's nothing HAPPY about the true sacrifices made.

Just a simple Have a good Memorial Day and don't forget who gave it to you would be appropriate and appreciated...

I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with.

Anything we do can go sour, whether it's enlisting, marrying, starting a business, anything.

When a man gets into a lousy marriage or business and comes out the other end he might have lost a lot, but he can't be said to have 'sacrificed'.

A person who got himself drafted or volunteered for the military and came back in a body bag or a wheelchair mightn't have figured on that being the price, but that's how it played out. Memorial Day... [ More ]

Memorial Day Is for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I too am a Viet-nam vet, and normally would be on the way to the Wall in DC this time of year, but unfortunately can't make it this year. I lost quite a few of my friends to this conflict, to which I might add the so-called leaders of this nation would'nt declare it a war, I'll reserve my choice words for them. I will not let their memory nor sacrifice to go in vain.
