Whilst I can see your point, I find it hard to see who is harmed by someone posting a lottery ticket to someone else.....the harm caused by murder is a bit more obvious. I am just asking if its illegal to mail tickets ,then why does ga sometimes have you mail you non-winning tickets for a second chance drawing ?

I do not intend to mail tickets anyway ,but just curious .

This is illegal. You cannot mail an unplayed ticket across state lines. It is a federal offense and you will go to jail if caught (don't ask how you get caught). The law does not prevent you from mailing a winning / already scratched ticket across state lines to the lottery payment center, however.

People in Illinois travel to adjacent states all the time to buy PowerBall tickets. Chances are if you have any friends one of them is doing it and you could ask she/him do it for the extra $2 toward their gas. I live in Ohio and when I travel to Indiana to pickup PB tickets for myself, I pickup a few extra ones for friends and neighbors at cost.

This has been discussed many times on Lottery Post. Do a search and you will find more info than you ever wanted to know. Federal law prohits the mailing of ANYTHING having to do with a lottery through the U.S. Mail. UPS and FedEx also abide by this law.

I could send loosing tickets assuming it gets near the cap. Since the tickets have already lost it wouldn't be gambling anymore and thus legal to send.
