All of CA's Keno payouts, like the rest of their games, is mandated by state law to be pari-mutuel.

Although no government-run game is going to have a payout percentage as high as would be found in casinos the payout percentages in those games generally runs a few percentage points higher than in their lottery games.

I did know someone who bought a whole roll of scratchoffs and they lost money,big surprise! It says right on the back of the ticket that your chances of a CASH prize is only about 1 in 5 so that's a whole lotta losers in between. $40 every five minutes doesn't sound that bad, though I'll agree it sounds time consuming.

Probably the scratchers actually do take more time. I don't know how much a person could make on that.... might scratch what? A hundred tickets in 5 minutes? Maybe every hundred or so tickets has a winner of some sort, probably most for a buck.

A 12 hour day of scratching those things probably wouldn't net more than a few hundred bucks for 11,000 bucks worth of tickets.

California has Keno,one drawing every 5 minutes. I once hit 6 numbers and it was only worth $40. Personally, I think it's a big waste of time. Kind of like scratch off tickets.

You might find something on the systems forum that will give you a better idea whether anyone's on the same track as you are. Searching the dialogue history for key words also might give you some ideas.

I'd be surprised if you find nobody's ever been there, whereever you happen to be. More likely someone's been there but maybe not as thoroughly as you might go and missed something important.

That's what I generally do my hoping about, anyway.

Yes, as I said, about 150 games a day, one every 6-8 minutes 'or so'.

All of the results, as well as 'hot numbers' are on their website I posted above.

I'd wondered why keno's not a more popular game and carried by more states. Evidently it's plenty popular enough and is carried by a number of them, but all except those six must have draws too frequently to carry here.

All daily Keno games are on the results pages. The only ones that are not are the ones that are drawn several times a day. (Like every 5 minutes in many cases.) Those games do not lend themselves to posting on the results pages, and some states don't even list the results on their web site, so it would be impossible for me to get the results. All of the action and results-checking tends to take place right at the lottery retailer.

It's an interesting game, Mike. I don't know much about Keno games outside the ones carried on LP.... Washington, Michigan, Ontario, NY, Atlantic Canada and Quebec.

(I was surprised to learn there are other Keno games in the US not covered in the RESULTS on LP.... wonder if that's an oversight on Todd's part, or if it's just that there's not been a lot of interest on LP in the Keno games)

Nebraska has it.

I used to play it quite a bit, then I got the bright idea of trying a pick 8 game, and all of the games results are published on the web (www.bigredkeno.com) so I made a huge spreadsheet with the previous 7 days drawings, which was like 1,050 games, and I could not hit a pick 8 in 1,050 games (testing).

A pick 8 pays $25,000, heck a pick 7 pays $8,000, I could not hit either. I had this bright idea of playing 1,000 games ($1,000) and coming back in a week to collect m... [ More ]

Tntea matched 10 in one of the keno games a while back on the prediction page.

I'm not going to say a daily keno game in New Mexico would make me happy. My mom always told me I'd never be happy until I put someones eye out with a BB gun, and I never managed it.

But I'd be nearer happiness if New Mexico had a daily keno game, than I'm ever likely to get short of digging out my old Daisy Red Ryder.
