The business called gambling takes a lot of money out of the economy that would otherwise probably find itself circulating in other forms of commerce.

If if the businessmen aren't Native Americans or bureaucrats there's not an easy route into the business called gambling to allow them to ride the cash cow.

When they find a way to ride it there's hope the disfavor will be soothed.

Jack

CalifDude:

Interesting. Thanks for sharing it.

I suppose those folks having their money invested there might well be a major factor it whether it is, continues to be, or becomes illegal.

On the other hand, if making it illegal made it so's they could make more money at it (as with marijuana), there's be lots more common folks behind bars for playing online casinos, but the folks who owned them wouldn't feel a thing, most likely.

Jack

It's hard to imagine Goldman Sachs or Merrill Lynch investing in a

company that grows marijuana or scalps concert tickets. Yet the two

firms, along with such houses as Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan and

Fidelity, have invested hundreds of millions of dollars in shares of

online casinos, even though those companies may be breaking U.S. laws

.

Go to Article from Investment Dealers' Digest

http://www.iddmagazine.com/idd/NYTSStories/nytsstories.cfm?id=12732 issueDate=current... [ More ]
