Maybe things would have gone a lot different in this country if they'd made a regular event of it as a means of raising money for government projects.

I'm surprised old Alex Hamilton didn't think of it and get it moving, genius he was in finding ways to fund government and keep the budget in balance.

Maybe he would have if Aaron Burr'd been a lousier shot.

The lottery was created to sell 6000 tickets at $2 each to raise funds to pave the highway in Charlestown from the Ferry to the Neck. Of the $12,000 to be raised, according to the ad, $10,800 is earmarked for prizes and $1200 for paving the highway.
