Most of Drudge's stuff is just breaking news from other sites, many of which can't handle the volume of hits that get generated. Better then some of the stuff the AP puts out though. Most main stream sources would have to be called the dredge report since they seem to be bottom feeders at best.

Perhaps Mr. Lay faked his own death.

Is there a viewing?

If so, does DNA analysis prove it is Mr. Lay's body in the casket?

Or was his body (and how convenient if so) cremated?

Did the stress of his upcoming sentencing occasion his heart attack? If so, may God have mercy on his soul as I hope He will on mine.

Or did it set him thinking to elude justice once and for all by disappearing through a cover story ?

Thanks Lottosleep for the link. I thought Drudge's penchant for making up stories on the fly [No pun intended] was well known and so much part of public knowledge. The link provided by Lottoshlep is a gd place to start.

I do scan Drudge almost every day because it's a gd way to get a quick summarry of the whoppers of the day. I am not above mucnhing ona daily bit of gossip.

look for Errors at the Report near the bottom of page. Seems like Matt is not above bloggering [sic] unconfirmed -- some even say entirely made-up -- reports in his quest to be the first out of the gate.

Hard to separate rumours from facts sometimes ... or propaganda from truth ... bloggers and MSM (MainStream Media) alike, IMO.

I didn't find the news story about his death, but I found lots of other things about him! (some Fiction, some Nonfiction)

Searching for: dead donkey :Turns up quite a few variations of the story, each one funnier than the last!

I wanted to add something to my last post. It sort of bothers me when people go slamming the Drudge Report (www.drudgereport.com) as some kind of rumor mill , because that site is made up mainly of links to news stories posted on the Internet. How that could be construed as an idiot gossip site really boggles the mind.

Drudge can't be such an idiot if you're looking at it every day. I'd say that makes him pretty smart. Drudge has one of the best news sites out there, which is why every news outlet has Drudge Report continually refreshing on their PCs.

Here's a link to the Drudge archives. It captures every change in headline. I don't see anything about Lay taking his own life.

I couldn't believe that a person would raffle off a dead donkey so I had to do a little Internet research to see what would come up. Well... I doubt Lay had the skill or intelligence to set up the payment system/subcorporations that was the source of all the fraud. The real villian was the CFO not the CEO. Lay just seemed more like the I'd rather be playing golf type CEO that would push underlings to get results but not pay attention to the details.

I looked it up and saw this joke posted in many places. Maybe it's an urban legend about Lay. Maybe there is some truth underlying the legend. Maybe it's an outright truth.

It is sad he died apparenbtly in an unhappy state. I feel for his wife and children...although he did rip off a whole lot of people and apparently cared little for the little guy.

I saw the news first on that idiot gossip's website- the Drudgereport. I am sure the red headline said that Lay took his own life. As I was checking a reputable site to see if they had the news the page refreshed itself and i saw the headline was changed, refelcting what the media outlets were saying.

I am sure Drudge's website said Lay took his won life (I could be wrong but I don't think so)... if so someone else must have seen it too...

It is a sad day for the man's family.

Years ago there was a casino owner in Vegas facing a lot of cahrges, he faked his own death and went back to Korea - he used a Japanese name for business purposes and had everyone convinced he was Japanese - he wasn't.
