If it was 'easy', the jackpot would be hit EVERY DRAWING.

The biggest problem *I* have with playing the lottery is patience - I have little of it, when my theory does not work, I change it, and dammit, so far, changing my theory has cost me 2 pick 5's this year.

So, I am going to stick to my theory if it kills me, and I'm not changing it. For awhile...

A software program to pick winning numbers isn't much different than wheeling numbers on paper they both require that the input contain the winning numbers yet to be drawn. neither the software program or the paper method knows this information before hand so either method requires a bit of luck in that you input the numbers that they might draw.

A software program that takes statistical analysis of the previous numbers that have been drawn and uses a spread of numbers not draw and combines... [ More ]

I agree on that in general.

On the other hand, there's cause to believe a person can run something up on the flagpole and nobody will salute..... LottoVantage being an example.

I suspect any method that's going to get converted to a software package for EBay, or attacked by jackals, or even ridiculed has to be relatively simple. Otherwise nobody's going to try to chase it through.

It's entirely a matter of quick, easy, and doesn't violate any preconcieved notions.

I have always hated the quote feature here because it doesn't necessarily tell the intention of the post. Usually the quotes are included in negative responses.

So I apologize, amigo...was hoping you wouldn't see that knee-jerk reaction. Should have known better.

But it goes to show how the written words can be 180 degrees from what the real words are.

The jackpot games are parimutuel and it makes sense not to give 40,000 people the same numbers you're playing.

The real question is donating ideas. You don't lose anything from donating ideas.

That's why the pick 3 and 4 forums are so full of ideas. If all of those games were parimutuel also, you wouldn't see many new ideas there either.

Does anyone really expect others to share information other than what they have tried unsuccessfully? I assume if a serious player comes up with an ideas that he really believes could net him a large lottery jackpot he's going to keep it to himself until he has tried it and failed. I learn from what others have tried and fail because it saves me the trouble of repeating their efforts.

I'm thinking I must have hit something in AZ.... Can't tell what...;

I was trying to use the azimuths from Pueblo, CO, and Phoenix for RIGEL to get New Mexico Roadrunner numbers. Trying to figure out a way to work around that mountain being between Albuquerque and the moon.

Thought maybe I could triangulate it. Still waiting for the NM numbers so's to find out, though.

Didn't do good on Illinois, here. Cameras screwed me up.

Numbers for most people aren't the same as numbers here on LP.

On LP when numbers hit it's skill.

A bit like blackjack in that regard.

When you win, it's skill.

When you lose, it's the fault of some guy who just split 10s or hit a 16 (no matter what the dealer had).

In a pinch, it might even be the fault of the pit boss looking over the shoulder of the dealer, or the cameras making you nervous.

Which is why I don't say nuthun when my moon numbers don't hit.

If you had a good system you would be foolish to share it with others until you had used it to your satisfaction. First, you came up with it and it is your system to do as you wish. Second, there is no law requiring you to share with others. Third, the lotteries MIGHT change the rules, but I can't really see how unless they limited how many numbers you could bet. I can't answer your poll because my answer ain't one of the options.

I've noticed a lot of things about the numbers. Early on I used to post them on threads and on my blog. Later I dropped down and only posted an occasional one.

For the most part, I came to the conclusion the things I've noticed and posted are of little interest to LP users.

I'm sure lottery officials use the LP website as one of many sources to see what lottery players are thinking and noticing about their games. When the PB game had all those 5/5+0 winners, lottery officials traced the source of those numbers to the factory that made the fortune cookies with the winning numbers, so if some one noticed a flaw in any game that would give players an edge and post it, that flaw would be corrected right away.
