guesser and spy153, I usually check my numbers as soon as possible online. Sometimes, someone else in the family is going online, so I wait until next day. At other times, I do it ASAP.

I know it's stupid, but I will not check my powerball numbers until the following day. Mega Millions I check as soon as the draw is posted. Also, certain stores seem to be less "lucky" than others, so I don't buy my tickets there. I also believe it is good to discuss the numbers online, bad to say anything like "I got a sure winner tonight. Going to get me some money this time.

1: I never play during a thunderstorm with lightening. With my luck it would fry the terminal when I am picking the winning combination and the ticket would get fried!!

2: I make sure I say thank you before I hand my betslip and Please after I get my ticket. (you figure out why)

3: I deliberately play at out of the way , off the beaten path lottery establishments. I figure they need the money and notority and it cant hurt to not be remembered!

4: I dont play if the person in front

I'd say keep the oops then go back and fill out a ticket for the number you originally meant to play. Keep all those bases covered and hope for a home run

I have no superstitions (knock on wood) and hope to never develop any (cross my fingers). I only use practices based in fact, i.e. throwing a horseshoe over my left shoulder. Customers behind me don't like that but that's their problem

I know what you mean about second-guessing ones' self.

Another problem is: so you pick 5 numbers, and you see an 'oops'. Do you change the 'oops', or do you keep it and play it ?

So many times I have changed numbers, only to wish I never did. Changing them would not have gotten me a jackpot, but several times

it was the difference between getting 3 numbers in a game vs. only 2 numbers. Once it was the diff. between 4 and 3.

Mine is to not start picking numbers until 48 hours before the drawing. Okay, maybe it's got less to do with superstition and more to do with not wanting to sit on the numbers for 3 days and start second guessing myself. But hey, it works for me.

My good luck charms are a bracelet one of my friends gave me mere hours after I won $300 off a $5 bet at a casino (ithe bracelet is supposed to bestow the 'powers' of the charms on it. In this case, a four leaf clover). I also have a dollar token... [ More ]

guesser, there are some supersitions. I play my own picks or quick picks in a jackpot between 6 p.m. and just before pool closure of a jackpot game.

OK, so everyone is afraid to discuss theories or things they have noticed.

How about superstitions ?

One of mine is to not buy my tickets until after 6 p.m. on drawing night.

Anyone have any others
