If you win any prize in a lottery you will need to file a claim to get it. In most states if you win less than $600, you can file a claim at any retailer that sells lottery tickets with a terminal by simply presenting your ticket for verification. If your winning is $600 or more but less than $5,000 you will receive a voucher to pick up your money at a bank. It's also a good idea to make a better descriptive Subject, since quick question does not really say anything about your topic, and Mega Millions players won't know to look in there. Maybe Question about Mega Millions prize payouts would be better.

I was just wondering how long it would take to receive the winnings from a 2nd place Mega Millions drawing, and how they'd give it to you- by mail or pickup? I haven't won it (yet), but it's fun to dream.
