if somehow there is less than a zero pct of getting this $$ back....seems to be something somewhere, maybe we can help. my sister had 12 years of Sloan Kettering Hospital and 2002 she became wheelchaired during surgery. it's harder when you know poor also and for a fleeting short time, you had that way out in your hand and then it was lost. That's the purpose of getting an attorney. A good attorney will take care of gathering, preserving, analyzing, and presenting the necessary evidence to substantiate your claim. Aside from failing to secure your winning ticket and failing to sign it, I'd say your biggest mistake was that you did not get an attorney to represent you. You tried to navigate your way through a complicated legal matter without the benefit of legal counsel. I feel safe in saying ALL of us here have had numbers we 'shoulda/woulda/coulda/gonna play', but didn't. I've had two of them this year that I would have had two pick-5's on (but I was wrong on the PB), but I didn't play them.

I don't know where you bought the ticket you discarded, but it seems to me that if you 'stood in line for 2 hours' ANYWHERE to buy a ticket like you stated above, then you know enough to take better care of them and not have 'a senior moment'. No matter what.... [ More ]

There was another lady a year or so ago who lived in Florida that claimed her ex in Indiana destroyed an unclaimed jackpot winning PB ticket rather than share it with her and his children. She appealed to LP members to help her concoct a story by sending her their losing tickets bought about the same time in the area where the unclaimed ticket was bought. She even traveled back to Indiana to make a claim for a share of the winnings but she had competition from 10 other people who also thought

PS The ticket did not go to the dump. It was sitting pretty, think, mixed in with other discarded $2.00 TKTS in a separate little bag and taken out of can when opened. Some people look in cans. There is alarm to house, so that was only premise and tkt not carried around town as wheelchair travel is unfrequent.

I vented, told story, still feel badly for that Chinese woman who was kicked out by store owner winner of $21,000,000 tkt.

On the Win for Life $3.00 tkt for $1,000 week, Yes you do need three green Life matches. But, on the Lifetime Riches $5.00 game, it is only one Multicolored Life with the wording $5,000 week for life underneath. One thing I wrote is that, after buying thousands of tickets, I can't tell you a single number on any of the tickets, except the numbers I played. If this story is true, it's very sad. However, don't bother hiring a lawyer. No jury would believe you.

granted it might take a while to give an invalid medicine. but that had nothing to do with you securing the ticket you could have placed the ticket on your person, in a drawer, next to the medicine you dispense, just about anywhere safer than under tissues that you knew would be tossed out. ya know it really bangs me up when we get stories like this. I scratched a lottery ticket for 9 grand once. I quickly turned around to see if anyone noticed it was a winner besides me i shoved the ticket in my shirt pocket and took off out the door.
