its sounds almoast like those people in alabama are being taken advantage from the politicians. they cannt even have a lottery to play nevermind the rest. I could never live in such a place

I would think they would oppose it. That would be money spent elsewhere instead of inside the casino. I would still prefer the lottery myself..

Ca lotteryguy...well I live in Mississippi but I do not keep up with Politics at all..but I will take a stab at WHAT I think I know..back in the very late 80's very early 90's the casinos showed up and they had to go out in the gulf so far before they could gamble if I am not mistaken..I think they were doing pretty good so the state allowed them to do DOCK SIDE gambling..those huge Barges were anchored to the dock sitting in the water..then one after another one opened up and next thing I think... lotterybreaker...a little backround for those of us not familar with politics in Mississippi. Is it true that orginally the casinos were only allowed if they were not land based, i.e. they had to float on water? Hence why all the casinos ended up on the coast. Why was this done? To get the citizens of Mississippi to approve casinos?

Post Katrina did the legislature change the law to allow casinos to build on land? Was it only those casinos that were damaged in the hurricane? Certainly

I think it would be a great Idea..do I ever think it will happen..I doubt it..and I am by no means a Lawyer ..but it just seems to me that Mississippi is doing something Unconstitutional here..and what I mean is that they ALLOW gambling now on land but JUST ON THE COAST..now it seems to me that the OTHER cities in Mississippi could throw a fit if they wanted to change that..because I just dont really see how a STATE any State for that matter could Grant a Act of anykind to a certain area of t... Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi probably won't start lotteries as long as Lose for Life is around. Lotto South never added any states; I can't see anyone else joining Lose for Life.

I was borned raised in Arkansas I can tell you now, There will be NO LOTTERY EVER in Arkansas. It has a lot to do with religion, I think.

Besides, there are no job opportunities in Ark so not many could afford to play anyway.

All i wish is that they put Win For Life in each of those 3 states...But i don't know if alabama is going to set a lottery on their state..

...If you think about it, the stock market and taxes are a form of lottery...

I moved down here a few years ago but I used to live in Birmingham, Alabama. The people in Alabama have been lied too for so long by politicians that they do not trust anything they say.
