Im not sure if they are fixed or not but I look at it like this.....

GTech runs most of the lotteries so if there has been some fixing going

on I believe that GTech has been aware of it or they have implemented

it themselves. I can just see a board room meeting between GTech reps

and a lottery commisioner and the reps are explaining how the profits can

be increased if they just do things the GTech way. I hate to even entertain

the thought of that but me being the optimist

You don't have to guess at about anything, all you need to do is take a good look at and study the games' past draws, ask yourself What are the Natural odds of this and or of that happening and of those things happening so often or as often as they happen ? , many people just don't seem to know much at all about patterns, no wonder that they can't predict right anything, at least not often enough.

i will have to say me and my friend went to a casino in detroit and i seen this with my own eye's, we were playing roulette and the little ball landed on 17 a dead stop on 17 i looked away for 1 sec then the ball jumped and i heard this looked again the ball was on 4 so i asked the dealer that was there how did it do that , she said maybe some one bumbed the table buy those table's are sold and mounted to the floor , i told her no way ther was just the two of us at the table , then she said mayb... As long as they do pretests and rotation of the tubes which hold the balls, they're messing around with the natural flow of the semi-chaotic outcome of certain numbers.

In an article written in the New York Daily news, a few years ago, revealed why they rotate the tubes. The commisioner himself admitted that the reason was to eliminate any patterns from forming. I held that article in my hand. I also showed it to people around me who claimed that there were no such things as patterns.

Actually what happened was the paper and pencil crowd that was tracking the numbers started playing the number that wasn't there because, hey, it's due, you know!

And then they assumed somebody from the Lottery Commission pocketed those balls thus rigging the game so they couldn't win.

I played the Ohio Pick-3 when it began in 1979 and hit the second draw, straight and boxed, by playing the 3 digits number off my license plate (647). That s when I learned to ask the clerk... [ More ]

Back in the old days of Vegas there were times when a Keno room went an entire shift without a number even being in the bowl - wasn't even intentional.

That only affected the players using that number and actually gave the players using the other numbers a slightly better percentage. With the bowl in full view of the patrons, it would be next to impossible to take out a ball or balls if drawn that would result in the highest payoffs.

Here's why there is so much resistance to computerized drawings:

Take that stadium but let's say of the potential 100,000 people that can be seated, 99,999 are. Then the data is looked up and the empty seat is found.

Then the comoputerized drawing spits out the number of the vacant seat.

Exactly what does it mean for a lottery to be fixed?

When a lottery puts a particular scratch-off series on sale, they already know exactly how many tickets will be sold in that series and exactly how much they'll pay out. The only mystery is who will be lucky enough to win which prizes. The same holds true for raffle games.

Now, if a lottery were to somehow control the outcomes of computer drawn or ball drawn Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5 or Jackpot games in order to achieve that same certainty... [ More ]

I must say that this is the first post that has really gotten under my skin. :) I can straight out tell you and anyone else who believes that state or provincial lottery games are rigged are so wrong. The proof can be summed up in this. Take a stadium with 100,000 people and give them all a ticket from a range of 00000 to 99999. It seems to me that the flip of a coin would not be natural and random, after all, you're only dealing with 2 outcomes, heads or tails. With lottery, take the P3 and P4 for example... you're dealing with 3 or 4 individual drawings from 3 or 4 separate sets of 10 numbers. The second number drawn has no bearing on what the first number was, and same for the 3rd or 4th numbers.

With sums you're dealing with a mass amount of number sets. Not all states are the same, and have different trends.... [ More ]

Rigged (obscene accusation) or not, people still win hundereds, thousands and in some cases (rare jackpot winners)... millions from lotteries.

The numbers won't always cooperate in a random game. Even though there are trends with numbers it just won't happen the same way every time. Yes, it was an official and host of the Pennsylvania Lottery. He weighed down every ball but the 4's and 6's. The winning number was 666 and he turned out to have thousands of dollars invested in tickets with 444, 666, 464, 646 and combinations like that. Nick Perry and some of his crooked buddies rigged the draw.

I voted some....that being the computerized drawings...just don't trust them....easier to manipulate. But that being said , why would any state want to kill the golden goose by doing so? the only examples of rigging were employees doing so to win big money, and they got busted by their states and did time in jail. I think it is possible that the Lottery keeps track of what numbers are being played and based on total wagers decides what % they are going to pay out.

I also think it is possible that they may see sales dropping in an area and give that area a winner......to generate interest and create more sales.

It could be that the numbers being played by the public on any given day may have an effect on the drawing........ie: on 6/6/06 this year the midday was 966 the evening was 667.......I d... [ More ]

The reason that the winning numbers in a jackpot game will almost never produce 50 or 60 winners has nothing to do with drawings being rigged. It's all about probability. The odds against a 2nd place win in PB are about 3.5 million to one. For MM they're almost 4 million to one. The numbers that people play certainly aren't completely random, but as a ballpark figure there would have to be about 175 million tickets sold for 50 2nd place PB winners to be at all likely. They use a different set of balls for the white balls, and they usually don't use the same set more than twice in a row.

They have 4 different sets of white balls, 4 different sets of red (power) balls, 4 different white ball machines, and 4 different red (power) ball machines.

Looking at history, there have been a few times where they will use one set of balls 3 times in a row - but they will use different machines with those sets.

Since I play quick picks, it really doesn't matter to me if the big games are "actively playing against big 2nd place prizes."

However, I know at least Powerball isn't, because twice last year, more than 60 players had match 5+0 tickets for a draw. The Big games are not really rigged...........yes you heard right....this coming from the master conspiracy theorist......It is not rigged for there to be a specific winner and that is why it is nearly impossible to bring a case against the biggames.....however what likely happens is that the game is set to select randomly from among a group of numbers that were least get upon...........this gurantees a random drawing with a payout of minimal 2nd or 3rd place prizes.

Are Lottories fixed? Yes, to an extent they are.

I have been watching the televised Cash 5 drawings for the last several weeks. I realized one disturbing fact after the eight or ninth drawing.

The machines are pre-loaded. By this I mean the balls are lined up vertically against the back wall. When the machine is turned on, the balls drop to the bottom of the bubble gum machine.

I've seen this kinda of post a few times but this perticular one does make me wonder. I never thought about if they only show the drawing the want aired on the t.v and showcase it as live...but still I have no reason to believe that lottories cheat.

The odds are really against everyone that plays but for some one to have pulled that lucky straw, what real reason would the state have to prevent one out of thousands of people to see a hit? The money and tax they lose from the lotto is nothing... [ More ]

WGN Chicago shows the Illinois drawing every night at 9:22.

Despite pre-testing and checking the equipment, there's been several times during the live drawing - that a ball gets stuck and never shows, or in the case of Little Lotto or Lotto, none of the balls release - the TV then goes to Due to technical difficulties ....

I've also wondered about that, but I don't see why the states need to be dishonest when the odds are so high in the first place (think Floridian said this on the first page)

I also realize why they need to continually test the balls, but the whole idea of a pre-draw bothers me. If after all these years suddenly it's my turn and that one in a lifetime draw is discarded, thank goodness I'll never know about it, but it still makes me wonder. I totally agree, what would be the point in fixing them. With a 22.5 million to one odds to win the big one in Florida how much more against you could the odds get. After all they have to award the top prize to someone.

Obviousoly, the other games have much lower odds but are still tough.

State lotteries don't need to fix their games.

This isn't related to gambling, but I've said the same thing when people make comments about McDonald's. I'm not a big fast food fan, but a multi-billion $$$ corporation isn't going to add horse meat or other products to their burgers to save a little money. They also don't add soy or worms. Once someone actually proves a business is cheating the public, it will go broke.
