I found a solution that does not cost much.

I purchased one full sheet of the thinnest plywood and cut it in half.

One coat of grey primer and two coats of chalkboard paint and I now have two huge chalkboards to work on and compare with ONE glance instead of paging through my notebooks and going back and forth.
