These events are relatively rare, but certainly they aren't impossible.

It didn't happen this time, but it may in the future. In fact the odds of many sequences in a row of such events are much higher than winning either Powerball or MM. Powerball is going through a string of runs wherein large jackpots always result. This will not happen all the time however. There may be a string wherein Powerball is being won in early drawings and where MM is producing regular large jackpots.... [ More ]

Last Tuesday was only the tenth time an opening Mega Millions jackpot was awarded since the inception of "The Big Game" in 1996. Only once has a BG/MM jackpot been awarded three draws in a row, and that occurred on July 18, July 25, and August 1, 1997 (BG draws were only once a week back then).

Well if I am lucky enough to be one of the winners that would be terrific. I would enjoy the money. Especially since the holidays are not that far away.-weshar75

Considering the routine low jackpots MM produces anymore I wouldn't be surprised. At this point it needs a lottery Viagra to get up anymore.

The way I see it, the odds are about 1 in 233,000 that the next 5 MM lotteries will be won without ever rolling over.

This is, of course, much higher than the odds of actually winning the MM with one ticket.
