What JimmySand means is that Iowa and Louisiana (and Arizona) require lottery players to be 21 years old for all its games, including PB. Every other US lottery (except Nebraska, 19) has a minimum age of 18.

OMG Powerball got won AGAIN!!! That's the third draw in a row!! If this keeps up, when Powerball actually does start rolling again, it will increase by only $5 million per draw for at least the first three rolls. On the plus side, the opening cash jackpot increased from $7.2 million to $7.3 million (probably slightly lower interest rates).

The only other time PB was won three draws in a row was on January 10, 14, and 17, 1998!!

I hope Powerball doesn't add yet more numbers to the matrix... [ More ]

I'm a Mega-Million Fan and although it has sucked badly this year, I'm looking for this to be the beginning of a long roll of draws. I believe it will not be hit before at minimum $260m. Early December - of course right before Xmas, for one lucky family. Merry Xmas. Oh, maybe it will be my family.

The LAST thing we need is MORE numbers added to the matrix.

A win last night comes as NO surprise to me as it was a relatively 'common' game, IF you are a halfway serious PB 'watcher'.

Why would either MM or PB let Chaos55 though? If Chaos55 isn't winning then every time you play Chaos55 you're adding to the jackpot. They probably would be happier if more people were using a similar system trying to beat the odds. I know I've added to the jackpot many times using my system.

If there is a silver lining to BOTH games having winning streaks right now, it's that NY Lotto is low, and growing by only $1 million per rollover. It stinks when NY Lotto is higher than both MM and PB.

I think MM is set for another long streak of low jackpots. It might get interupted by a pot just under 200 million but I doubt it. The MM group however will continue to do nothing about this failure of a game.

Powerball might have another good roll towards the end of the year.

It's also funny that the 2nd biggest jackpot is a 6/49 game with 24 million in tax-free cash. I remember when Canadians were complaining about the price moving to $2 but given the great prizes for a 6/49 game it woul... [ More ]

It is kind of odd that such games with such high odds have frequent winning streaks, and back to back winners. Most say it is because of increased ticket sales because the jackpot was so high, but how to do explain the $15 million then? Kind of throws the whole odds thing out of the window, in which I am not a firm believer in odds anyway.

I have nothing wrong with smaller jackpots. Heck, I play Cash 5 all the time. But when the prize is so much smaller than the odds to win it, then it's a problem. If Pick-6 Lotto over in Jersey got up to $15mil, woo-hoo, I'm going over the river and getting $10 worth. But if Powerball is $15mil, then it's not nearly as appealing. The shorter the odds, the less I expect the jackpots to be. And if a long odds game like Powerball, or more specifically, Mega Millions, can't deliver as $100mil+ jackpo... [ More ]

I would rather back to back wins than them raising the matrix again. I can see it now. Just match 5 of 58 and 1 of 45. I also would not mind winning the $15 million after a record jackpot win by someone else, as that would be about as anonymous as you could get. Personally I could care less how often it is won, or how big it gets. As long as I am the winner of at least one jackpot.

I hope this isn't the start of a trend. Somebody in Kansas won the $15mil Powerball jackpot, the second in a row. And we know Mega Millions just had it's 3rd winner in 4 draws. I sure hope this isn't the beginning of another winning streak.
