Common sense says leave job and area and start afresh in new surroundings and avoid all the headache. Some people are bent on showing people Hey, I want to remain normal, money won't change me. DUMB! That kind of money, may not change you, but it sure will change how people relate to you.

Why wait to receive all the drama from folks, which will only make you bitter towards relationships, just start over, and those who are true friends and family will not change up on you.

It's not just you. I also figure that if you come into that kind of money you should move on and let somebody else have your job. Call it karma, social responsibility, whatever. I can appreciate that some want need a job to provide routine and stability, but there are plenty of opportunities to do volunteer work. If I won a jackpot I might do something like that, but no way in hell would I keep a real job that could interfere with taking long weekends or going off for 3 or 4 weeks at a time.... [ More ]

I'm not surprised that the auto detailer won't quit his job, because some people actually enjoy that work. However, I am surprised that the person working at Wal-Mart doesn't quit.

Why not just buy the Wal-Mart and work when you want to.

They can't keep their jobs because the people they work with will hound them for money until they have no choice but to leave. They will be hounded at home till they have to leave there and find somewhere to live that is around people that have money. Its just the nature of things.

Hovever, I would like to have that dilemma once in my life.

I was wondering if anyone knows anyone at LP past or present that won a huge jackpot... [ More ]

For some reason I remember this one, this was early or mid 1980's...

We were in the break room in the casino, WGN on TV and they announced a guy in chicago had won $43,000,000 in the Illinois lottery.

At the time, he was a printer working for $650 a week (pretty good money then) and said he intended to keep his job.

Well, one of the guys in the break room says, $43 million and he's going to keep jis job, what do you expect from a guy whose name ends in -ski.

Anyone else see them on the news? They stopped at a gas station to get something to drink and bought a ticket.

He details cars and she works in a Wal-Mart and they said they're going to keep working. I wonder how long that will last.

Maybe it's just me, but when you come into that kind of $$$$$ and you were working, aresn'y you somehow obligated to move on and create an opening for people who really need those jobs
