It's now too late in the year for either MM or PB to reach $300 million by New Year's Eve. Right now Hot Lotto is getting a lotto attention with its record jackpot.

I estimate that there is a 75% chance that we won't see such a jackpot this year, at this point. The 25% chance that we will see such a jackpot means it is by no means impossible.

Such jackpots are unusual. Powerball produced one such jackpot early in the year. In the same run (using the inflated PB annuity, it ran to $365M. Megamillions produced two such jackpots this year on separate runs, ending each at $267M and $265M in February and April.

You don't have to worry about a ban. Mega stinks with or without fishy numbers. The numbers are honest IMO but the game just stinks. I doubtit's cash prize will break $100 million until maybe April of next year. Too bad the people running it seem to care less what it's sales numbers are.

We have already broken the 300 million level if you count Euromillions since both Powerball and Mega use inflated annuities and Euromillions is worth more now than either game at the 300 million level.... [ More ]

It simply will not happen especially for Megamillions.........I will also gurantee you that MM will not see $100 million the rest of the year. If it hits for over a $100 million this year without awfully fishy set of numbers, then I'll request Todd to ban me for 3 months. Yes....I do have that kind of control. The record speaks for itself.

Anyway I am about to embark on a new system theory starting in November. I'll start a new thread on that.

Well at least mega did not disappoint. Vegas would have won a bet even for it breaking 100 million. Powerball would be a better bet. Euromillions will never get that big but at least it doesn't have an annuity.

I guess old Rummy isn't satisfied with losing two wars, three if you count the war on Al Queda, not that Rummy pays any attention to Al Queda except to try to get everyone to believe that it's Iraq.

To really put their stamp on things Rummy, Dick and George have to lose three or four wars; two or three just isn't enough. Look at the bright side, it's another chance for Halliburton to collect another 300 billion dollars while short changing the American military.

Here we are 2 1/2 months until the end of 2006. I think we will get some nice jackpots but maybe not the record jackpots. You have to get combinations that will continue to stump its players draw after draw. Players have been very lucky over the last two years in both Multi-state games. I think I will side with the players and say that the jackpots are not going to be heading in the record direction. But as always the lottery could go either way.-weshar75

If they will actually take a bet on this that would be interesting. I'd say they'd win if you bet Mega can get that high before the end of the year or even next year. Powerball would be 50/50 at the 300 level. Euromillions would be equal to that in 2 rolls but it's unlikely it keeps rolling when it's this big.

I wish we could still play Euromillions. I see PTS stopped taking bets from US residents for Euromillions. I guess they are running scared before the dust settles from the rash of arrest on offshore CEO's of gambling sites!

And to answer the question above Will we see another $260,000,000 - $300,000,000 Jackpot this year? I say NO But I do hope for one though, so I could take a shot at winning it

I'd say that Powerball could easily hit 260M by Christmas. I have just given up on expecting anything from Mega. Eurmillions is only five drawings away from it's record but is unlikely to roll that high.

I'm with you. I don't really care which one goes through the roof, as long as someone is extremely lucky around Xmas time. Jack Whitaker received one of the worlds most blessed gifts a few years back, and we don't need to re-hash what happened. But I want someone to get blessed and dod some great good in their lives and their community.

My guess is that it is more probable than having 3 powerball jackpots won in a row (as happened recently). However it is very unlikely that it will happen. If one of the two jackpots were more advanced, it would be far more likely.

I would love it if the two jackpots stopped following one another and that their cycles were out of phase.

MM has gotten two jackpots above $260 million ($265 and $270 million jackpot winners) this year. PB has gotten one jackpot above $260 million ($365 million jackpot winner) this year. I hope PB does go above $260 million again.
