I give of my time not only here, but outside in my world. I was strongly (and to some degree still am) discouraged into just giving people my winning numbers because this person claims that its bad karma, or bad luck when they have ill-intentions...It dosn't affect me, only if I allow it to. Good points, I'm an old guy too, at least as compared to most here I'd guess. Except for a stint working in a refinery and a little time with the phone company, my background is military and then casino work.

The casino work gave me a little more of an inside look at this kind of thing, and like I said in the last post in the tipping part, let me add that often people in the business can be the worst.

My Goal in life was to teach someone how to read.. My son had a learning disability that caused him to have a horrible time in early elementary learning to read.. I prayed nightly for the child. Without the proper skills to teach him myself, I prayed that God would find someone to help him and in return I would educate myself to be able to return the favor to some other child who was walking in the same shoes. You make some great points. I am an old guy and somewhat set in my ways, however, I am not sure how I feel about all of this.

Us old guys who worked like hell to be able to retire never expected tips or a kind word from anyone. All we wanted was to do the best we could every day for ourselves. I have worked many, many, many 12 and 14 hour days including Saturday and Sunday just to be able to turn out the work as it was assigned. No one said I had to do it, I could have quit any tim... I find this is the key to live life by.I love to do things for others, because there have been many times in my life when others have done things for me.As far as tipping or any sort of giving it should be done from the heart not out of feeling it's something that should be done. And sadly, I have concluded that no good deed goes unpunished.

Now, if I could just convince the right entity that it would be pure punishment for me to actually win a large jackpot prize and just how much I would suffer from such a horrific win, I would gladly accept that punishment with minimal compliants.

It really applies to this site as well. I'm a relative newbie to this site, but very proficient (sp?) on a few of the more confusing and difficult lotto programs. Mike....It just comes naturally for me every day. I even keep a bunch of coins in the ashtray of my vehicle to give to people looking for money for food or coffee at red lights. I don't know where the money winds up, but wherever it goes, they needed it for something.

The thread on tipping makes me wonder how many of the people that have vehemently said they don't tip, if they themselves were clerks, would be looking for a tip.

I could just see someoen who says they never tip finding themselves working in a store that has lotto in a few months (you never know) and saying something like:

This guy came in and hit a scratcher for $500 today and didn't even give us a tip.

The other topic makes me have a bad feeling in my stomach.......makes me feel really bad......I really have stayed off the site more because of it because it draws me back to it everytime I get on the computer and I get mad when I read more of it......

I think most people here on this site are wonderful, sweet and kind people.

I think most deffinitely that the world would be a better place if each person payed it forward.

As a matter of fact I do. It is funny that you started this topic because I think of that all the time. Some people are funnt about sharing there picks weather it be qps or what. Like I say it all pays the same. So many times when I feel a good number is comming I do share that. not only with the lottery but in other places also. there is a topic on giving tips right now.i was wondering though how many people here pay it forward.what i mean by that is when someone does something extraordinary or nice for you that you pass the favor on by doing something extraordinary or nice for the next person.does anyone here do these things? the world would be a better place if each person does something like this.....
