Why would you doubt anyone would buy a lottery ticket in Whitehall? The Shell gas station on Main street in Whitehall is glad he did since they get a bonus for selling the winning ticket.

I read the story online a little bit ago and the owner of the store who just got a $40,000 bonus told reporters. I hope the winner of the jackpot shares some with the store employees. So you know the owner isn't going to give any to his workers. The funny thing is who is the owner to tell the jackpot winner what he is to do with his winnings.-weshar75

The Mega Millions winner has come forward, Sean L. Harper of Columbus. He used auto lotto (quick pick) and chose the cash option. Very quick to claim his jackpot. Did not elect to form a blind trust as many winners from Ohio have done in the past.

RJOH...according to the USA Mega web site, in Ohio you have 60 days after filing a claim to make a choice between cash or annuity. The infomation is listed under the Mega Millions FAQ in a grid outling how each state in Mega Millions handles the cash/annuity choice.

I guess it comes down to what you meant by sixty days after winning , the date of the draw or the date of the claim

In Ohio there is no box to check for cash or annuity on the playing cards. The winner has sixty days after winning to choose either cash or annuity, if he doesn't than he defaults to the annuity plan. The winner has 180 days to claim his prize other wise.

What effect would having the MB different from the WBs be? A winner is a winner, correct

I doubt he was over that way...maybe in the western part of C-bus near campus, but not over at Whitehall. I was hoping you would say Springfield...then I knew I would be down to a 1:25,000 shot at winning

The ticket was bought in Whitehall,which is on the south east side of Columbus. The winner/winners haven't come forward yet.

I believe Ohio has won several times this year. Also, this win sets a record fifteen jackpots awarded in one year for Mega Millions, beating Powerball's record of fourteen jackpots awarded just last year.
