Hey wasn't he the one that played in Monster's Ball , w/ Halle Berry and Billy Bob Thornton. He was mean on there, but I liked him on Everybody Loves Raymond. He was real funny.

In the 1976 film Taxi Driver, he was the cabbie-philosopher Wizard, who counseled Robert De Niro's violent Travis Bickle.

His exclamation Holy Crap on ELR will be what I will always remember him for.

Oh, no!!! I just signed on and saw this post. Peter Boyle played Joe in a movie of the same title and it was a classic. He also played Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein and was fabulous. However, the creepiest role, but one of the best I've seen, was when he was on X-Files and played and insurance salesperson who could see the future. He was very talented. I always thought this is a man I'd like to meet someday. Maybe I will in a better life and place.

He played the character of Raymond's father so well! Very good actor, although it seemed so natural for him
