Thousands of people have trust in the lottery. We should have clear detailed printed instructions on the rules and regulation pages. This should be very specific because it effects when or if someone will purchase a ticket. Who doesn't need extra money right after Christmas? That one sentence is an open ended sentence in advertisment of the game. Not included in the written rules to explain the complete details of the game. What better time to start a new game, at Christmas! Everyon... [ More ]

Fatbird...let us know what happens.

I think the lottery intentionally wrote the sentence in a vauge manner in order to protect themselves should all the tickets not be sold.

As your ticket bought last week was in the 48 range, that means there are a lot of tickets that need to be sold by January 7th.

The SC Lottery probably doesn't want the word out that the sales of the ticket will be extended for fear that this raffle promtion will drag on for quite some time.

I tried to contact the Lottery on line about the question concerning, the one million tickets sold and would it effect the date of the drawing if they did not sell them by the deadline date. No one has e-mailed me back. That was 2 days ago. That one sentence implies either or could take place. It is a sentence that doesn't give a straight forward answer. The last ticket I bought last Friday was in the 48 number range. I might give the Lottery office a call on their next business day.

I know of no jurisdiction that hasn't sold all their raffle tickets before the deadline. It seems to be a popular event. THe usual payout percentage is 50%.

The drawing is scheduled for January 8, 2007. So if they don't sell 1 million tickets, oh well. Those who have purchased tickets will have an even better chance at winning a prize.

Fatbird...for clarification, when one purchases a ticket for the South Carolina Millionaire Raffle it is not a random number. It is a sequential number, meaning your ticket was the next ticket one purchased up to the last ticket sold, which if they sell all of the tickets will be number 1,000,000.

The interesting question you touched uopn is this, what will the lottery do if they haven't sold all of the tickets by January 7th? The official rules say they will stop selling when they reach on... [ More ]

BazookaJoe,

Thanks for help and advice. The information on this web sight overwhelms me, and I fell asleep at my computer last night reading all that I could. I enjoy the lottery and I participate for the enjoyment of winning something. Looking forward to the posting of winning numbers after a drawing makes me feel like a little kid again. Now that I am an adult, with some street smarts from trial and error growing up, I have faith/beleive in trying to figure out if there is a mathematica... [ More ]

Ok Fatbird, Lets talk. I'm in S.C.also. I purchased about twenty-five tickets so far. I talk to a sales rep from S.C. lottery the other day and he to predicts they want sell all one million tickets So the way i look at it is, we have better chance of getting ran over by a car if we were standing in the middle of the road now verses standing in our yard, than winning the big prize. I predict the sales will really increase the last two weeks. I'm looking at a ticket i puchased 12/16, and the numb... [ More ]

South Carolina Millionaire Raffle ticket sales deadline coming up.

Tickets are $10 each, you are given a random number and it is computer generated. Only one million tickets will be sold until the deadline date. Rules and regulations mentioned winners would be posted Jan 8, 2007. My question is this. The number on your ticket also lets one know how many tickets have been sold already. If only half a million tickets are sold by the dead line, that would increase the odds of winning, woul... [ More ]
