He was practicing a medley of his hits with the band. He got on the drums and showed the drummer what type of beat he wanted. Until I watched them practicing I didn't even know he played the drums! I have been in the presence of governors and other important people, but I have never encountered anyone greater than James Brown. Although rich, he wasn't a snob and although he was famous, he was humble.
