The only reason we often see winners when MM underestimates the jackpot is that they only underestimate it when ticket sales are at a point where a winner is likely. Regardless of what they estimate the jackpot at, ticket sales will be whatever they are, and the probability of awiner is dependent on how many tickets are sold. Even if sales are a lot stronger than the estimate there's better than a 50% chance it will roll again.

I was right all along. It did go over $250 million. I think the sales are going to be pretty strong and the jackpot will be over $267 million. I've noticed that when they under estimate the jackpot someone wins it. We'll see what happens this time.

When MM hit $315 million one time during it's previous run, one ticket won the jackpot [happened in CA] while 19 other tickets matched the first 5 numbers. I hope MM continues to roll and reach $365+ million this time with one jackpot winner.

The $315 MM annuity ($185 million cash) was the highest US cash jackpot. The $363 million annuity in 2000 was only $181 million cash or so.

Anyway, I was right about the run breaking at least $200 million.

Three more rolls and the MM CASH JACKPOT may be over $200 million

I don't know what the largest cash pot in US lottery history was (maybe the $363 million MM jackpot in May 2000) but when MM reached $315 Million, the approximate cash value was $185 Million, higher than PB's $178 Million.

For US games largest pot in cash was Powerball on 2/18 at 178. Both of the large pots in MM were won in OH last year, maybe our own RJOH can get lucky this time.

Next rolls would be 177, 215, 265, 315, 400. Mega has only rolled past the 300 million mark once in 2005. While I'd like to be proven wrong I think someone will hit this jackpot very soon. Well before it hits the 265 mark.

If low jackpots mean low sales how can the lotteries afford to give away $7 million as a starting prize? Most states noticed a long time ago that they can make billions of dollars on typical sales. Smaller jackpots mean big sales that are just smaller than the sales for big jackpots. If Massachusetts is only figuring that out now they're a decade behind the times.

If there's nothing wrong why are lotteries like the MA lottery finally starting to realize that low jackpots equal low sales?

It's only a matter of time before a change happens to this lame game. When I'm finally right about this run, the next run and several other runs are you going to say I was right? Good luck waiting for that billion dollar run. Maybe if they switch to pesos it will be possible.

Twisted is right this poll is for MM....

But I think an answer to your theory is that there are probably alot of multi draw tickets purchased during big jackpots, as well as a lot of pools started...If you look at the number of small prize winners that Raven62 puts up on Md's challenges you see that there were about 1.8 million winners winning anywhere from $3 to $21 on the PB 254 million jackpot draw.....Its only natural that most would roll over there wins to the next draw instead of cashin... There's absolutely nothing wrong with the way MM works, and probability says that it could be hit for 53 on Tuesday or it could roll to a billion or more. Both are long shots, but there is no for sure .

Under 150 for sure. You will die of old age before MM gets big again or the lotteries fix it. Seems like they are busy trying to pawn off the lottery to third parties rather than give players what they want or what generates sales.
