See real example of scam nature of Lucky Sum.

NY yesterday: 0800 midday and 4787 Evening

S (0800)=8

S(4787)=26

50 cents boxed bet 0800 yields $600 I think. 50cents on 4787 boxed is $200

Lucky sums for each would be an aditional $1 each and would only yield $30 (S=8)and $17.50 (S=26) each respectively.

Who would fall for this

This Lucky Sums is just another scam to get poor people broke.

To spend $1 to get 6.5 or $11 is just a poor use of money when you can make two additional bets on your dollar.

Don't waste yr money o this scam.

When I first saw the hype about LS I thought you were getting paid without an additional wager. I said wow--thye are giving the poor suckers something back-however small. Then I realized that the lucky sum bet is twice the regular 50 c bet.

I tried it last night (not a numbers player) and lost. Good idea, although I don't think it will be wildly popular.

BTW some members in the NY legislature recently wanted to cut the payout on most NY online games from 50% to 45% ($1 straight would pay $450/$4,500) and reduce the payout on NY Lotto from 40% to THIRTY-FIVE PERCENT!! And with a neighboring state paying 70% on Pick 3

Obviously one does have to fork up the extra dollar. DUH! It was just so out of the blue and I did not even hear of any promotion for this, caught off guard, and thought, WOW, they're giving you an extra shot for your initial investment! Silly me. Hey, I just found out about the instant win option about two weeks ago.

Thank you Mink for explaining this. I just checked the numbers online and had no clue as to what was going on when I saw the sums result. But does this mean that I have to put an extra dollar on the ticket to win the sum result? I can't find any info on this on their website.

its cool tho but the lucky sum payout should be bigger then 11.50 or 7.50

Today in NY the lottery division gave players another way to bet on there favorite 3 or 4 digit game. If you are into the SUMS you can make more on a hit if the sum of your pick comes out. Example I play 404 everyday a sum of 8 , todays midday number was 224 which is a variation of the sum 8 so according to the payout chart , for that extra $1.00 bet you won $11.00 for that sum of 8 even though the 404 did not come out.
