Find a good accountant, find a good investment consultant and invest enough into gov securities to avoid capital gains taxes. The rest I would invest into real estate that would turn a nice positive cash flow and rollover all of the interest into the existing investments to maintain a good tax shelter and at the same time insure that the money keeps growing.

What about the fun stuff? Borrow against the real estate investments to get the things that you want, borrowed money is not taxable.

I've always answered similar questions with a reply that most of my winnings of any sizeable amount would go to charities and to gifts for needy relatives. However, after taking a good look in the mirror, I have just decided that the first major purchase would be for me:

A FACE LIFT

This may sound off the wall but since obesity is such a problem in this country I would open a chain of restaurants called Lunch Hour that had a one mile walking track behind it. When you came in to eat you'd have to walk for half an hour first then get served a very healthy lunch or vice versa. Anything to help get people moving and up off their feet.

The rest would go to charity

Retire with it, and live the same way I am now, no changes.

New cars - yes, but I'd stay where I am, in the same house I am in, and remember folks and charities in my will. If a person expects to live 30 more years, then $75,000/year or so should suffice, at least here anyway. 'Cept I won't live to see 78.
