The reason they can get a patent on something only slightly different is that virtually all new games build on the prior art of older games. Cards have been around for a very long time, and every new card game is just a new variation on something old. It's exactly the same with board games, pinball and computer games. I agree. In fact, I think I would like to win $15,000,000 10 times using a system I designed instead of winning $150,000,000 1 time by just buying a quick pick. Sure, if you win $150,000,000 you'll get media attention, a newspaper story, etc, but you're still just considered a lucky lottery winner . Well, I will agree with you that there are many methods that will work for multiple lotteries. Now, I don't think there is any specific key to the winning the lottery, especially PowerBall or Mega Millions. After all, the numbers are randomly chosen and the odds are outrageous. You can put a gaming patent on it with the U.S. Patent Office, be aware that a competior can rip off your entire system except for 5% of it. In other words, all they have to do is change it a little bit and can claim it as theirs. I've been done this road before with a jewelry design. Believe me the big guns have all the bases covered against the little guy.

well by no means have I broken the LOTTERY CODE..lol..all I have done is just found away to turn those cycles into straights only and yes it takes a little longer than those 30-40 days that those other cycles were running on average.. but it is still a HUGE ADVANTAGE to know what is coming STRAIGHT..even if you dont know the day..and I mean THE DAY as in a much shorter TIME PERIOD..the difference is knowing that 567 is coming in the next few months compared to your average Joe saying..yeah..its... If you have a system that you don't want others to know, just don't tell anyone about it. This doesn't mean it won't be discovered by someone else though. If you think about it, if they could figure it out themself, they probably deserve to know it anyway. As far as this software that some of you are talking about, you can only copyright the SOFTWARE. A system for choosing lottery numbers will have no protection.

I use software and I could break down each group further if I wanted to.

I could search for no match, wild match, doubles,consecutive pairs ,all consecutive, sums, roots,triples.

There are even lawyers who specialize in design around patent work. Big companies hire them to ...um... enhance ... ideas from little guys. Some of the most famous inventors in American history (19th 20th century) were just shills for the big boys.

BTW, I'm not saying anyone's system/work is not worth protecting. Just understand that you are not making cars or something where the other guy has to first build a factory or foundry to compete with you.

yeah this will work Steve..I would like to see a little better distribution of the numbers..one row has 24 numbers..and one row has 4 numbers..see what I mean..maybe try and get them to where each row has a closer amount..and then assign each row a number ..that way all you have to do is track ONE NUMBER..when the number is due you know what combos are attached to that row/number..maybe something like a zip file..when you get the file you unzip it and bam..you get several things at once..lol

However, all you need to do is find the source code, make some changes, swap an algorithym around a bit so it does the same thing in a different way, and you have a 'new' system. The folks in Redmond are the masters at that, just ask Lotus, Foxpro, Wordperfect, Netscape....

For any lottery post members not aware of this feature at lottery post.

Use the deflate 3 and deflate 4 systems tools.

The deflate tools give you the option to put numbers into groups of your choice to search in past results.

This will pull your desired info from past results and also give you tier levels of the frequency of a number in that group

Steve if I may make a suggestion..I probably wouldnt even consider High/Low..first of all they are not set in stone ..lol..what is high..what is low..do you consider 3 low..6 high..little differences that mess up sets where there is not concrete direction either way..odd or even is a different matter..they are set in stone..0-2-4-6-8....1-3-5-7-9..now I may be wrong about the high/low because I dont use them so I am not sure what everyone would consider high or low..what about 4 and 5..they are

I like it. It's pretty much the way Duke is programmed to work, but I find that my programs run hot and cold.

I've been looking into the High/Low - Odd/Even situation of numbers lately. There's eight combinations from each set and they tend to cycle quickly. We might be able to narrow things down by combining the two ideas.

Whether we're talking Pic 3 or Powerball (or Pick 12 in fact, if it ever gets to that), a system that produced a (singular) winner might cause some turmoil, if it was proven it was indeed a jackpot predictor .

Because this is a lottery systems forum, I deleted one paragraph before. I questioned the validity of a system in the first place. The reason was only this:

If someone wants to protect a lottery system, and the lottery commission agrees that it's a valid claim, then the whole idea that the games are random would be thrown out the window. So if it's possible for someone to win with a system and he can prove it, the games would probably end.

If you are continually changing how you pick your combinations then you don't have a system , at best you're trying to find something that works.

I find that systems are unique to particular lotteries. I've had some minor success with Ohio RC5 and tried to use those same techniques with PB and MM and it doesn't work. This could be a result of the differences in odds of winning these games but likewise when I've had some minor success with PB, the same thing doesn't work with... [ More ]

The best way to protect your system is to keep changing it as conditions change. My system yesterday is obsolete today, but replaced with a better one. At least as often as I have time to modify it.. The other way to protect it is don't share it with anyone, even close friends or relatives, not even hint at the technology you use. The only way I might share anything is if I were getting something major in return. I mean, once you win big THEN you can decide who you want to share with.

I'm assuming this winning system is actually a working system that is making money as we speak. As such it has to be a set of instructions that's either in a text form or a computer program and it's just a matter of formally presenting it for copyrighting or patenting.

Maverick,I believe you are on the right track. You DO have to go about it in steps. Nothing wrong with mailing it to yourself, at least you will have SOMETHING instead of absolutely nothing.

Mailing it to yourself, your Attorney, anyone of 'power' to do anything, won't work. This I know for fact, I know folks that have been there/done that/got beat.

And getting a Copyright isn't that easy on something like this, because you have to pay for a copyright search, in which folks may spend a year or two comparing every kind of system to yours before you can be issued one, and if they screw up and miss one, you still lose.

First, he would have to prove that his system could have predicted every other winning combinations in the games within parameters that most players could afford.

Second, once he had proved the first point the next question would be Why didn't you play those combinations yourself? .

Third does exist because he wakes up and the dream is over. Funny when you're dreaming or in la la land anything is possible even correctly predicting a winner in every other lottery game.

The simplest way to protect your system is to NOT publish it.

Three can keep a secret........ if two of them are dead.

Larger corporations than you have trouble protecting their I.P.

Even if you could prove that every other winner of a given game, on a given day, used your system, the genie is still out of the bottle. You don't have the resources (or authority) to hunt down every winner of every game (every day) and demand they prove they didn't use your system to win.

What we are talking about here is intellectual property. If I remember my research done long ago, I believe a Court will NOT recognize anything that is self-mailed.

You must copyright your intellectual property.

How? You can download the appropriate forms from the government's Library of Congress website (I believe), fill them out, follow all directives, etc.

Most lottery systems are nothing more than analyzing a data file and summarizing the results in different ways. Can such things as adding a columns of numbers and dividing their amounts to get the averages or medians be copyrighted?

Predicting combinations of numbers has usually been picking numbers randomly to form combinations that have never come up or equal to some popular sums or using some wheel designs that are already in a public forum somewhere.

Sounds very interesting..

That is something I have discovered.. (No name given) just something that pops up as the numbers are going through the cycle..

The pick 4 boxes have proven to be the easiest with all states, than the straight cycle for me.. as in coming quicker.

I quit the online.. Finally was able to manipulate the winnings of the last few years.. Now I am playing TN, GA, KY, TX, and sometimes FL..

I have travelers for the GA, KY states.. Relatives in TX and a friend in FL.... [ More ]

I am not sure what the solution will be Stavros..I really have no idea on that..but what I do know is this..My system is based in Sets..I have mentioned that numerous times since I joined LP last March..and I may be the only one on LP that uses the set method..so I can honestly say I have never taken one iota of information off of any LP member to add to my system..I started my system shortly after florida started its lottery and I hit 5 out of 6 on Floridas lottery..the numbers just led me in a... It just seems a shame that people are feeling so victimized that the amount of sharing done here on LP is going to decrease. I have been testing systems for various people and giving feedback to help them develop their systems. If I had a system of my own I would ask people to help me do the same thing. TNtea..very good point..but I also Live in a state that doesnt have a lottery..and as soon as the internet thing is over with..and looks to be very close...I will be back on the sideline again and not able to play..I think I will hammer out my system..the code I use and a good time frame of what I have discovered over the years leading up to the GRAIL and mail it to myself...

Probably best to keep what you found to yourself. Why would you share it if you think you would need some legal protection.

I have stumbled upon somethings that need to be kept within/between the ears.. I just plan on using it for my advantage..

What I done was wrote it down on paper and put it in the Us mail and then mailed it to my self and left it in envolope with the post mark date on it I never opened it .

what are the legal steps to protect a system you have..does anyone here on LP have anything that is legally protected by Law?..Lets just say I need some legal protection for something I found and we will leave it at that..
