I have a few missile silo sites bookmarked, a lot of them are dead links now, but after 9/11 hit, 'missile silo homes' pretty much quadrupled in price overnight and have not come back down, especially the ones where the gov't left behind generators - in some cases big enough to power a small town....

I used to spend time on a Panama board a few years ago and learned quite a bit about the country from the people who live there. It was a Yahoo Group called Viviendo en Panama. Since so many Americans have moved there, it's gotten more expensive. I was there a very brief time about 6 years ago. I'd buy acres in Orlando Florida, and keep my home in Maryland. I'd also buy a Condo in one of the luxurious Buildings in New York on Broadway, so that whenever I shopped or went to the shows, I could stay a few days and relax and shop until I drop, etc.

Coin Toss, I don't like the heat all the time and enojy a cool breeze, but I'm not sure I could go back to living in a cold area of the country. I guess I'd need to have 2 homes!! Maybe I'd adapt. One thing I've gotten very used to is the sunshine. A dreary day like today seems almost surreal.

I'd stay right where I am, an 'expensive' house here is around $350,000 (4,500 sq foot, 3 car garage, etc.), so I would upgrade slightly, but as far as moving/travel, here's what I would do: I'd have a decent minivan, or a SMALL RV, and I'd go places and stay a few months' at a time in those 'extended stay' business motels.

I would leave the keystone state far behind in favor of one of those $1,000,000 to $3,000,000 Oceanfront homes (the ones on wooden columns) on South Carolina's northern coast (a few miles south of Myrtle Beach and all the condos). Maybe Surfside Beach or Garden City Beach.

No particular place. I'll travel the world. But I'll keep my old homes just to keep me well-grounded.

I'll get a compact and well-equipped RV so I can take my 2 dogs and 1 cat travelling with me. Maybe explore the high deserts, look for fossils, climb some mountains, explore some caves, and rivers, and lakes...

And I can do all these, without me worrying that I have to go back to work next day, worrying about deadlines, payroll, etc., etc.

Yes. But this is referring to a mega jackpot, right? It's hard to believe, but many people in Hollywood make $20 million and more every year. So if you wanted to party with the in-crowd, it would cost a lot to keep up with them. Not my style however.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by cost of living. Te way I see it, that includes the incometaxes you'd pay. I really like the area that I'm in, but there are a lot of nice areas that are cheaper. The paradoxical thing about having a high income is that you can afford to live where it's more expensive, but your high income may be related to the high cost of living.

I like the private school thing Tntea. Athough one would have to qualify, I can remember struggling to keep my daughter where she is. The cost there is $750 a month which to me is an outrage. I was put out of work for 2 yrs when my leg was shattered and times were hard. I think it is a great idea. Many people just cant afford what it cost for a private school and some are like me. Temporarily unable to pay for it.

I would think so,CoinToss. No matter where you choose to live or what you choose to buy the word UPKEEP always comes to my mind. Some sort of budget will always have to be in place if you are expecting these millions to last through the rest of your life. Inflation also would have to be taken into consideration. A million dollars isn't what it used to be. And in Monterey,it CERTAINLY isn't what it used to be,heehee.

I travel to Mexico often, so I would have to say I would get a nice villa perched on a cliff overlooking the bay just outside of Puerto Vallarta. And the plus would be that the cost of living would be much less than it currently is in Florida

Coin Toss, Those places I mentioned are some of the places I've been. Russia and Ukraine ( formally Russia ) are quite nice and things don't cost much. The people I met were all nice as well. Can't say alot for the Russian Mafia or the Government but the average folks are just like anyone else. I wouldn't go to live just visit again.

I would continue to live in my home of residence, but I would definetly do some traveling and would probally have a winter home somewhere because it is so damn cold in Alaska. I always wanted to go to Hawaii or Mexico, and the Caribean or Central America would be nice. Then I would definetly like to go down to M.I.A.M.I. But Money Is a Major Issue!!!!!!! Interesting question. The amount I won would make a huge difference, but I honestly have no clue. One thing I know for sure is that I'd move out of this dump. For me, The Netherlands, Singapore, Guam, Scotland, England, Brazil, Palma Spain, Ibiza Spain, Thailand, Russia or Ukraine, Nova Scotia and a few other places I remember. Wouldnt mind making a Cruise around the world on a nice cruise ship.
