I like France Lotto as my vote. Although it's two plays for 1.2 euro, I like their style better than the computerized WA lotto.

I got this from Washington State's lottery website..

With Lotto, you get three chances a week to strike it rich. Lotto tickets only cost $1, but they're good for two plays.

I don't know if is 2 plays meaning 2 more combinations or 2 drawings...

IF is true that one ticket cost 1 dollar and that is good for 2 drawings, then Washington State's Lottery is better than France's LOttO...

Australia no longer uses 1c and 2c coins, so all prices are rounded to the 5c.

You want to pay more for each lottery ticket (and have to deal with change virtually every time)? In the 1990s there was a proposal to add a 25c surcharge on a one-dollar NY lottery ticket within NYC; this would have meant a 32% payout on NY Blotto if enacted.

One of the Aussie's here on the board (soory, I forget who) mentioned that in Australia the lotto is $1.02 or $1.03(AUS $) and that's how the tax is paid.

Maybe that's what France does with the 1.20 Euro. I wish the US would do the same.

I wonder why France's 6/49 game is 1.20 (rather than 1.00) for two plays (do you pick one or two sets of numbers for each 1.20?) You should try to do more research on this game.

Still, I'm voting for the French game, as it's tax free, and AFAIK the Washington State cash option is fixed at 50% of the annuity, instead of a (higher) floating percentage (the latter is true of Mega Millions).

BTW the cost of a Euro Millions ticket in the UK is either 1.40 or 1.50, which does make sense to... [ More ]
