Mexico taxes lottery winnings? If so I'm surprised it hasn't come up, since Mexico borders the US.

Somebody should do a thread on what countries tax lottery winnings. I know the US and Jamaica do. I recently saw that Poland used to but was pressured by the EU to stop (possibly as a condition to eventually join Euro Millions

It is an all cash jackpot, but is taxed.

I presume the jackpot is CASH ONLY, and that Mexico does not tax lottery winnings.

I saw the prize payouts-they were rounded off to the centavo. The smallest denomination currently in use in Mexico is either 5c or more likely 10c. I was in Nuevo Laredo four months ago; so far my only time in Mexico.
