All I can tell you is what I see at my end: Everytime I click on next 100, another 87k file is added to my Netscape Browser Cache.

OK, Raven my friend, I have confirmed that you can load every single post of mine, yours, or anyone else's into the Recent Posts page, but it does not add a single byte of extra data to your browser cache. As I said before, it does it all in memory. That's the way AJAX works.

I wouldn't use the Search Page to try and view that many Posts (12,000+) either, at least not without a Secondary Search Field.

Everything that you see on your Browser Screen gets written to Browser Cache (including the data retrieved from the LP Server via AJAX Calls).

When things get "humongous" computers run out of resources and something crashes.

That's why you would not use the Recent Posts page to view all 12,361 of my posts. If you really feel like paging through all 12,361 (now 12,362) of my posts, you can feel free to do that using the Search page (select Username once you get there).

However, I believe you are mistaken about the browser cache, because only the initial page gets cached. Everything else gets put into memory, because it's retrieved via AJAX calls.

The further back you go the more humongous the page gets:

Recent Forum Posts Results 1 - 10 of 12361 for Todd.

Without paging the further back you go the more strain placed on browser cache.

Hi Todd... considering how new I am at this I have to say I think anything new is great although, I'm still in the stage of discovery. There are so many cool things on Lottery Post that I'm trying to learn. Call me a suck up but, I was already pleased without something new so, this just makes it even better. THANKS!!!!!!!... Probably most people like that feature, however, it is starting to bug me a little. I want control of a page as soon as possible. I am far quicker than this feature can possibly be. The first thing I do when a page starts to load is to grab the scroll bar and start reading where I want to read. Next thing that happens (while I am in the process of reading), is that feature kicks in and disrupts my reading by scrolling the page down to the designated post.

I made some updates to the site, so please clear your cache!

Want to see one of the updates? Click on anyone's name, then click Recent Posts in their popup menu. When you scroll to the bottom you'll see a brand new paging scheme I've been working on.

It's actually not even a paging scheme, it's a more stuff scheme. Instead of paging, it adds more results to the current page, so you never have to leave your current page, and you still have access to the... [ More ]
