The increase of $59 million from the previous draw for the estimated annuitized jackpot is the largest increase in a jackpot since Mega Millions went to the new matrix when California joined in June of 2005.

Lottery fever is alive and well, once you get over $250 million

When I drive to the local gas station to buy MegaMillions tickets tonight I plan to play as if I drove to Indiana to buy tickets for a PowerBall jackpot of $275M.

I knew they would reestimate the jackpot before tonight. I think it will still be a little higher than $275. If it rolls tonight, then all hell will break loose. We will start seeing lines to buy lottery tickets that we saw years ago.
