Personally if the terminal spit out a quickpick that looked bad in my opinion but was the winning number I'd be happy. Many of the winning numbers look bad but I'm sure the big check looked very good.

I pick my numbers randomly on my computer and throw out the ones I don't like and then make out a play slip, that way my numbers are the ones that I would have been happy with had the terminal picked them. There's no good reason to be upset with the terminal when you allow it to choose for you.

bob27, your summation is accurate! May I add to it:

1: someone who is in a rush to get milk and eggs at the local 7eleven style store and uses their spare change to buy that one qp!

2: the gal who drives 60 miles across state, finds a off the beaten path store where the clerk is just learning how to use the machine and messes up the tickets. She takes them anyways and wins! (okay thats my story and I hope to win due to the fluke!)

3: some 65 + woman :) (my aunt in nj

I do know 1 thing for sure...whoever wins that 340 on tuesday,,will be in this category:

1.someone,who never played lottery before.

2.lottery pool of at least 10 people.

3.someone very lucky,and deserves to win this money.

4.some 65+ man.

5.someone,who play lottery for many years,and finally wins.

6.and possible more then 1 winner hits a jackpot.

there's no way in my opinion,someone who plays lottery once a week,is going to hit that jackpot.

If I don't win Mega on Tuesday, I hope it rolls once more so that its annuity will be a record too, but it probably won't roll. The current cash jackpot beats Powerball's "record" annuity's cash jackpot, even if you added the match 5 bonus pool cash to it (the $365 million PB annuity was worth $177 million cash, and the match 5 bonus pool had $20 million cash, totaling only $197 million).

The roll just shows that probability works about the way we should expect it to. There was better than a 50% chance it rolled, and it did what was most likely.

The last jump was about 70% bigger than sales for the previous draw, and the current estimate looks to be for a modest 10 to 15% jump to about $125 million in sales. I'd guess that twisted is right and we can expect a revised estimate that's at least $10 to 15 million higher, and even a fair chance that the annuity value will beat the... [ More ]

They had estimated sales of $110,612,211 (source: lottoreport) and only 14 second prize winners. They only upped the jackpot by $65 million but I think they will re-estimate it to at least $355 million before the drawing on Tuesday.

I bought 3 quick picks for this drawing from 3 different places in my zip code area all three of the tickets had the number 16 in the second position on the line. And 2 of them had the same mega ball 44. Man it burns me up when i get qpicks with the same numbers.

The Ohio lottery website seems to be a pretty good source. It's one of the fastest to have updated info, and it lists the cash value, which is nowt 202.7 million.

First to pass 300 since last February, and a new US record by a pretty good margin. Based on the sales estimates there will still be about a 50% chance for another roll.
